Two more really interesting stories.

Why at sunrise? I had not thought of that, but there must be a reason.

And at the risk of a derailed thread, I love I the idea of having culpable leaders beg forgiveness be for the nation. The US bankers come to mind.

Hrm. I seem to have posted the version of my story that didn't have the personal pronouns sorted out. Late writing for the lose! Ah well, hopefully it'll make sense to someone.

Well, once you say that, it's easy to figure out how to make it make more sense!

Ah. I thought I was missing something. Good to know that I wasn't. With the right pronoun, it not only makes sense, it's a very good story.

And mosaix, fresh off his triumph from last month, has turned in another fine story. (Shaking metaphorical fist in his direction.)

Thanks, Teresa. I've struggled with this one all month, but this afternoon I saw a headline in a newspaper that gave me a kick start and it was finished within the hour.

Commiserations, mygoditsraining. It must be very frustrating reading it and not able to edit.

So with only a couple of days to go, who's missing?
Scanning my list, of our regulars we lack :- Moonbat, reiver33 & The Judge.

Of our "Missed a few" crew, it seems to be:- J Riff, J-WO, The Procrastinator & BookStop.

And the "Started later but shaping up well" set lack:- fitzchivalry, mirinda, Oxman, sloweye & Wannabewriter.

Obviously, I could be wrong; either missed an entry, of misclassed an enterer.

But a record entry to finish our first year is still totally possible (and we're already over the forty-two, so it's not a bad haul, anyway you look at it).

Sadly, The Procrastinator's entry has been and gone. :(

(She didn't see that two separate words had become concatenated, so she felt able to add another adjective. The mods saw the concatenation as two words (which was a correct call), which pushed the word count to 76.)

True; I saw the debate in the staffroom. Sorry, I just lined up my chart with the list of posts, without checking back. (I wish the list of posts would come up in some order, preferably alphabetic, but even posting order would be something)

And I'd like to say I wasn't aware of how much my entry was plagiarising Evelinn's critique submission. Oh, I can't claim not to have read it, but it wasn't until it bobbed up to the surface again that I realised my semichronscious (I don't go deep enough for a real subchronscious) had fed me stolen goods, as it were.

After a false start back in December (I think), I've re-entered with a new attempt at this. I thought it was a good idea back then, but various things have intervened (work and life mainly, but trying to progress through my novel, too) to prevent me becoming a regular.
Hoepfully this entry will be the beginning of a new commitment to the challenge, and perhaps eventually I might get good at it.
As a writer, I'm generally too verbose to get everything in 75 words, but it's a useful exercise to try.

Even though it seems that some of the "regulars" aren't stepping up, I think it'll be a tough job to make shortlists, let alone single out one story to vote for. I'm aspiring two mentions, and any less will NOT do :p

OK so now we have something to keep us amused while we regulars wait for vote day.

A sweep-stake on those of us that wont make it every month.

I have several entries written entitled:

An Unstoppable force meets....nothing
An Ode to J RIff
Faster than Light
Revenge is a dish best served A la carte
Ode to J Riff (2) or a short victory can be bitterer than defeat
Faith crime
A Crime or a punishment
Less victor more Victor

They are not all at the 75 state yet, and some of them are only a first draft.
I'm just deciding which one to enter, and then I'll polish it up a bit. I mean polish as in make shiny, not change it to a North East European language.
na zdrowie
:)

I vote that you submit 'Less victor more Victor', purely based on title.

I should probably check the closing date, I don't think I've ever entered this late on in a competition, and I wouldn't want to ruin my 100% record of entering every month, this being the last month of our first year it would be a shame not to make the complete 12.

Sorry for the double post but I just realised that my earlier post had a title typo.
It was supposed to be 'less victim more victor'
When I read Dig's reponse I thought what a good idea and have now written another entry call 'less victor more Victor'. :(
So now I have even more stories to choose from, and I blame Digs. ;)

You writing types are too talented! This poor Parson has difficulty even getting one modestly acceptable story written, let alone a huge assortment of working titles! I must say that "less victim and more Victor" moves my mind in risque directions.:D

Not healthy for a Parson.

Don't they say: "When in a hole, stop digging." Your crime was to ignore this sage advice; your punishment seems to be a large number of more-or-less suspended sentences.
