'contamination'

Huh? as regards the technical advice ...

In the bottom-right of each post are four icons. The second, with the double quote mark and the "+", is the multi-quote button. When you want to reply to several posts in one of yours, click on that button on each post you're replying to (it'll turn orange), except the last one, where you click on the normal quote button. Try it, you'll like it.

Ah, mine Hare -- as ever, a font of wisdom concerning Great Art. *hands over a virtual bunch of organic carrots*

Alas, chopper, the carrots have all gone. Have a virtual bunch of bananas.

I didn't know that line, Teresa. I shall have to use it somewhere!

Good-oh. someone intelligent has dealt with the techno stuff.

Not that I'm ungrateful, but this looks suspiciously like rabbit food. Hares dine only on the finest chocolate known to humanity. Or Dairy Milk will do.

Not at all, but I have some experience in this field, as I once applied for a post as technical writer, for which I had to describe how to make a cup of tea. I later heard from a sniggering friend who worked for the company that my style was considered "pompous". Needless to say, the company is no more.

Noooooooooooo!!! My brothers and sisters, what have they done to you? Dressing you in gold lamé and making you wear little ribbons and bells around your necks?! They shall pay. They shall all pay ...

(Does it count as cannibalism if it's chocolate?)

Cool. Thanks. What am I doing wrong? If I press 'quote' what happens? I mean, if I just want to reply to you, as I'm trying to do here? Sorry

No, it only appears here where everyone can follow the course of the conversation if they wish.

The multi-quote option is to deter people who seem to (I gather) get their kicks out of joining forums and seeing how big a post-count they can get before they're rumbled as time-wasters, an argument which is unlikely to be levelled at you judging from your contributions so far.

RJM, if you use any of the buttons here to create a post, then yes, it can be see by the world and his wife (or "and her husband" depending on the sex of the world, I suppose) -- not just members either, since this is an open forum and anyone can view the threads.

If you want to reply to someone privately, then you can use the Private Message (PM) system, either by going through your User CP or the tab at the top right hand of the screen, just under where it says "Welcome, RJM Corbet".
