Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

There's mine. A couple of hidden things, and something not-so-hidden. It's great to be able to use full sentences for a change.

And just beaten to the 2nd entry slot by two minutes. Time, eh?

Re: April 2011 THREE HUNDRED WORD CHALLENGE -- READ FIRST POST!!

I liked yours Karn -niece piece. I thought I'd go for a few laughs...coughs out loud:eek:

Alchemist, that's very good also. Glad I beat you to 2nd.

I was ready to push the button last night at 12.01pm but all the mods were on the drink - damn!

Haha, just gone and put my size 11's in it and put a discussion post in the 300 word story thread.

I'm just waiting for a knock on the door from the Judge and her enforcers - GULP!

My time is limited which is appropriate due to the picture/theme:confused:

I'm not sure I appreciate this comment - a group less likely to be on the drink you'd struggle to find.

edit please move this Mods I'm an idiot:confused:

And now why would I want to remove such evidence of your admitted idiocy, Gary? I think it should stand as a monument to not quite thinking things through, myself...

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Can I offer you a cup of green tea as a peace offering Guv:)

Evidence is evidence, you can't bury it as much as you'd like too.

However, I think my idiocy is already on record somewhere on this forum. Please don't dig that up as well.:)

It's Uncle Boneman - Fanfare plays on speaker as 7 dwarfs run on with trays of fairy cakes and cookies:)

No, I'm on the right... who's the one on the left looking in the mirror?

Have you noticed how the amazing freedom of having a massive 300 words to write your story isn't actually 4 times easier than the 75 word challenge?

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Sorry in my story, its your nephew on the right and your sitting at a cafe, looking onto the Thames, with a cup of tea and a ginger nut in your hand.

I couldnt resist having a laugh - chipalatos, tee-hee:)

Your right, it was easier!

The one looking in the mirror? Who's the vainest person on Chrons?

By the way I forgot to put a title - I'll call it, Wee Boneman's Rant

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

It's up, 300 words seems so long...

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

I was just about to say the same thing, Brev! Those entries look huge! Good'ns at the mo though.

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Just entered, and I found it more difficult than I first thought. After getting the idea earlier in the week, (I'd forgotten how much I enjoy brainstorming - especially with a picture like that) I finally managed to finish the story to my liking this afternoon.

There are a lot of great entries already, so I'm looking forward to reading the rest.:)

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Well, regardless, you put up a nice entry, Tal. I've always enjoyed a bit of mythology, even in my current half-asleep state. :D

but the month is still young and we've still so far to go. Yep. So very, very, far to go.....horizon is not even visible.....:D :p ;)

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

I was just thinking how short those entries all look, compared to what mine looks like in pencil on notebook paper! I've been feeling like 300 words is huge, when it takes more than one sheet of paper, and then it turns out it doesn't look like that much when posted!

Of course, three versions of 300 words looks like quite a lot, anyway....

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

I've written mine, but I am determined to wait a day or two to be absolutely certain there is nothing I want to change.

Which is what I always tell myself, just before I post it.

We have eight stories already, and it isn't so long since I reopened the thread. (I wasn't out drinking, thank you very much! Although it would have been justifiable to open a bottle of champagne, since my son was victorious at the tournament. However, I did not go equipped with champagne, so I returned sober.)

Karn said:
Well....TE IS the godmother..... But who would the wicked stepmother be?

I am perfectly willing to play both those roles at once.

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Hehe. No, TE, I think you're too nice to play the stepmother. :) Though to be honest, back when I was an early member of the site and just getting to learn the ropes, you and the other mods were rather intimidating, especially during my rough days.

I'm actually surprised I managed to get anything with this done at all-I shamefully admit I was high on Oxy because of my back when I wrote it. All in all, I think I did a good job on it, though-didn't I already say this stuff?

It'll be hard to find a favorite, there's some nice entries in. But there is one that's really speaking to me right now, one that has caught my eye and interest. :D Dare I say who? No no no!

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

I think I feel a story idea coming on, or at least the title: "Confessions of a Fairy-Stepmother."
