Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

I was ready to push the button last night at 12.01pm but all the mods were on the drink - damn!

We have eight stories already, and it isn't so long since I reopened the thread. (I wasn't out drinking, thank you very much! Although it would have been justifiable to open a bottle of champagne, since my son was victorious at the tournament. However, I did not go equipped with champagne, so I returned sober.)

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Someone around here needs a sense of humor implant, certainly.

I have posted my story, heaven help me. It had reached the point where I was obsessing over punctuation, putting it in and taking it out, and I had to put an end to the madness.

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Alright I posted!

I spent more time on revision and waited between finishing the story and rushing to post so I do believe I did a much better job on this entry than on the 75 word challenge.

If only from a lesson learned perspective. Now I can not speak to the content. :p

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

The first time I have taken part. Quite how my story was inspired by an image of a clock I am not entirely sure...

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Mosaix, TE, Sapheron... you are truly masters...Beautiful, each in its own way.

Time to start banging out an entry myself I guess.

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Thank you, GreenKidx!

Sapheron, the connection between your story and the clock is clear to me. You've written about time and the different ways it's measured. And I think it's an excellent story.

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Good to see Saph entering. Great story too, as have others been. I felt a strange identification with the character "graying at thirty", I don't know why.

Still a long way off posting anything myself. I don't seem to be able to do "inspired by", only "about". But at least, thanks to Google, I now have an idea, albeit a vague, abstract one that will probably only give birth to characters and plot by the same kind of process (and in the same kind of timeframe) as that by which the primordial ooze engendered the first life.

From the 'Rules for the Writing Challenges Thread'

Content

Entries may be in prose or verse.

So I think that is a yes, poems are allowed. :)

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

Well, I got mine up there. I'm off to bed now to recover.

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

I'm working on an idea, but it's not really coming along as I want it to, so I'll have to think of something slightly different I think.

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

I'm starting to think I should have spent a little more time on mine...

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

I didn't allow myself to read the other entries before I posted. There are so many different interpretations of the photo, and some fabulous writing. Congrats to all.

Re: DISCUSSION, 300 Word Challenge, April

This is growing to be quite the challenge indeed. At this rate, I think we might need a little more time to vote. Strong entries, each and all.
