The Uncanny X-Men (1978)

To me this seems the perfect place to take a slight break from my ongoing history of the X-Men. As always I'm not sure how many people read this but I know that there are a couple who follow it so I have no intention of stopping completely.

After a few weeks I should hopefully return and carry on from where I left off. If things go the way I have planned then I should cut back on the depth of the synopsis of each issue, going into a much more general description much like I did when I first started the original thread. Of course there will be those issues, those stories that deserve a little bit extra treatment and I probably will be unable to resist doing that, whether it is because the story is so good or just that that particular issue mean so much to me remains to be seen.

So thanks to everyone who has read this thread, taken an interest in this thread and commented on this thread, and a special mention to both Mouse and Clansman.

(And Mouse, we're always and I mean always getting closer to Gambit!)

Thanks, PM, for the mention. This has been a lot of fun, and has brought back a lot of memories (sold my X-Men comics a looooong time ago).

I've been reading the X-Men for far too long, and reading comics as a whole, too many for too long and I've recently decided to cut back.

One of the biggest surprises has been the fact that almost out of the blue the X-Men is on the list to be cancelled. It has always been 'safe' it was the one title I always felt I would get, whether it was good or bad, simply because it was 'The Uncanny X-Men'

When I made the list for what was safe this time (7 comics) The X-Men was on it, but with the announcement that as of this month Uncanny will be rebooted, after 500 + issues it will begin once more with issue 1. And what seems to be an ideal starting point for many, suddenly feels like an ideal stepping off point for one.

Crikey, the last post in this thread was over two years ago!

I always said I'd return and continue.

Should I?
