Mark Lawrence

Well I am due to read it in the next few days as its winging itself towards me from Amazon. Always wondered why they space these series releases so far apart, surely it would make sense (if already written like these) to release them perhaps 4 months apart? Long enough to read quite a few other books in between and give you a breather but still fresh enough that you wouldn't need a re-read or clumsy reminder preface before hitting the next one in the sequence?

they like to make you wait lol must admit if they are already done I'd much prefer to race through them

maybe spacing them out gives Mark a chance to work on his next book?

And having finished what I was reading (at last) I'm now going to give this ago. I'm looking forward to it enough to have broken my own rules on what I read next so let's see.

Finished it this morning and really enjoyed it. Despite everything going on at the moment I finished it in only 9 days which says a lot.

Instead of rambling on about what I though I'll link it to this:

and be done.

Well done Nixie for bringing it to our attention in the first place, and thanks to Mark for writing it!

The sense of humor the author displays here in the comments makes me interested in the book. I love a little self deprecation.

Best of luck with the auction Mark, hope you reach a considerable sum.
As for me, I'm looking forward to August.

Im looking forward to August realese too, I enjoyed the book, Jorg being believable as hard to like lead. Only a month left now, Mark should be glad for SFF chrons group read in Goodreads that made me read the book.

Normally I don't buy new fantasy of this kind.

I didn't buy the first one got it free when I pre ordered the Martin book. I'll likely buy this as soon as its released. Meaning I'll likely end up with this in hardback but the first one is paperback. Well it can be an apology to Mark for doubting the first would be any good..

Good to hear!

& yes, the SFF Chrons group and others on goodreads have been very helpful/kind to me & a number of other new 2011 authors. It's a tough thing to get noticed and every little bit helps/is appreciated.

No apology required but many thanks if you snag a hardback!

I bought this some time ago but only just got around to reading it and to be honest I'm glad... it means the next book will be out sooner :)

Always glad to see a fellow Bristolean reading my stuff! I'm signing stock in Forbidden Planet soon - so drop in there & you can probably snag a signed King of Thorns copy off the shelves!

Just bought the kindle version so off to get stuck in :)

Thanks for the update Brian, would have missed that if you had not let us know. (Far too busy at the moment to keep an eye on book release dates! - but not for the Chrons), and just like that a few clicks and it is on the Kindle...

No idea when I'll get time to read it though... :(

I meant I had purchased king of Thorns on Kindle :) not Prince of Thorns

This thread reminded me in was out in a very timely manner :)
