Under three hours until showtime... I'm cooking up some Tully Trout marinated in Arbor Gold, Highgarden Squash, and Dornish Peppers.

why can't they broadcast over here same day (UK) wish i had someway to stream it

It was a great episode. Spent a little much time with Tyrion, Shae and Bronn with their game, though it was a creative way to tell some of their back story's to those who have not read the books.

Hoping to hear from any who have not read the books about their thoughts on the final few scenes.

Yes, it was a creative way of giving a back story! I've played that game myself many times!! I love the scenes with Tyrion and Bronn - "keep low" :)
I'd also love to hear from non-readers what they thought of the battle scenes - were they confused? Did they understand what happened etc?

I enjoyed the episode, but felt that the battle was a little rushed and not very thorough which is a shame (bugger that they couldn't have had 12 episodes to give those bits some more air time) - I enjoyed reading that part.
Dani's story was grouse though - can't wait for next week! :D

Formidable. Fantastique. Incroyable.

This was such a well-put together episode. I was on edge for half of it. My Lannister boys did not disappoint. Dany's scenes were intense. Robb plays the Lord well. Loved the dialogue between Aemon and Jon. Walder Frey is very, very, very well-played (that's two Harry Potter actors now in this series).

But, they did Ned's execution so well, I could not have asked for anything better.

Well done Alan Taylor.

What a way to end an episode.

They executed him?

Yep, it was set up between Cercei and Varys that he'd "confess" and be sent to the wall, but Joffrey being the evil little ******* he is had another thought.

Even though I knew it was coming the final scene still tore me up. It was brilliantly shot. I thought the scene with Tyrion, Bronn and Shae dragged on, but Tyrion's story about Tysha really packed a punch.

The Jon Snow scene with Maestar Aemon was also excellent. There was real emotion in the interaction between the two.

Even the weakest part of the TV series for me, Dany's story, hit the high notes. It was interesting to see the first elements of magic in the series and what magic forebodes.

Loved the scene with the Freys, Catelyn is growing on me and Robb is a far better character in the TV series than how he is portrayed in the books.

Overall this episode packed a powerful, emotional punch in almost every scene. Great viewing.

Svalbard, you've mostly said everything I was thinking, and saved me the trouble! :)

I actually loved that whole scene with Bronn, Shae and Tyrion. I felt quite choked up for Tyrion when he talked about Tysha. It was brilliantly played. If Peter Dinklage doesn't win a bucketful of awards, there will be riots in the street! And then watching Ned's demise! It still felt like a kick in the stomach even though I was expecting it. Tonight's episode was incredible! I'm devastated that there's only one more episode :(

Yeah, really, I'm not sure what superlatives my fingers can throw out of my keyboard that would be adequate.

It just keeps getting better.

I know what's going to happen, but I'm absolutely riveted.

ctg, you have not seen the episode nor read the book? I feel bad for you... I know it was Brian's desire to keep this forum spoiler free. You can read this in his sticky thread, NOTE: No Spoilers please! I think those of us who have read the series are (and will continue) to refrain from posting developments until the show has aired.

Mayhaps you may not want to read any more posts around here until you've read the books (or at least seen the show being discussed) because there are more plots twists ahead.

Edit: Or mayhaps, ctg, you did see the show and not know exactly what happened in the last seconds? If so, I still feel for you... beware reading here! And happy viewing!

Well... thought this was the best episode yet, just after last week.

I rather enjoyed virtually every scene, and am finding it harder to find anything I did not like. (Apart from Joffrey, but you're not meant to like him. The young actor is doing a wonderful job, I just want to punch the little snot on the nose!)

The end was especially interesting keeping one eye on the TV and another on Mrs. Perp who did not have a clue what was coming (a incredible display of restraint on my part for 9 weeks)

As we got closer and closer to 'the moment' I had one eye on her and one eye on the screen, and when the realisation dropped her face was a picture.

Absolutely stunned and disbelief. I think she has suddenly realised that no character is safe which make viewing a lot more interesting from now on

The episode was really good!
England and York!... err... Westeros and Stark!:D
Well, no need in battle scenes as long as I know that "Prince Charming" Jaime is in Rob's hands already.

Boaz, I was being sarcastic, but in same time also serious as I know that there are other people who haven't read the book nor haven't seen the episode at the point when the comment was made. Buy saying that, I have been listening all four books, and I know about 'certain' developments. However, that doesn't mean that I know about all the minute details as I'm often listening ambient music in order to get into the zone, where I can develop my own stories. And that means that my other half is more aware about what's going then me, and when it comes to this televised series, I have known that Ned's beheading was in the schedule, just I wished that it would have happened as I've been rooting on Ned's behalf. What I don't know for sure, is what's going to happen to Arya as those chapters are the ones that keep escaping me as I concentrate to do other things.

So, if you guys can hold your fingers still until the Monday night then all will be good. But it doesn't mean that you have to as the forum is as much yours as it is for the British people. Therefore, you could blame us for saying things about series that are going to air much later in the states, and to give example on this are the BBC series Merlin, Survivors (cancelled) and (revised) Sherlock Holmes.

When I compare Merlin to the Game of Thrones, GoT wins every time. The drama is much, much better than what BBC has ever done with their own fantasy series. And therefore, I can only applaud HBO on developing this series to really portray all the essential GRRM wrote in his books. ;)

What I liked in this episode was the at first Joffrey's betrayal. He truly went down the path of a mad king, drunk in power and think that he knows what's best for the realm. And on second, I liked very much how the things were developing at other side of the sea, where Daenerys was forced to use blood magic in order to save Drogo from the death. The whole demonic voices coming out from the yurt was very well done, and I believe that many viewers felt that as scary. And lastly, the scene where Cat went to have a talks with the keeper of the Twins was really well done. It was so believable and well formed scene that I almost though I was watching something very historic.

What I didn't like was the Tyrion's going to the fight scene. The producers were hyping up the tension and then cut away the whole battle scene in order to get in less dramatic developments at the end of the battle. And for love of God, I couldn't understand why Tywin was sporting a Japanese style samurai helmet, when rest of the gear was fashioned after western style armour.

Noooooooo!!! My favorite character.........I literally choked on my dinner; certain that someone was going to intervene, but chop.

I'm beginning to like the oldest brother Robb, his capture of Jaime was very surprising, but it shows his skills as a tactician is growing, and he's becoming more and more confident in his own decisions.

OIGJAEWIOFjwofijOGIjwoeijogjOWEIFJoijeaWFMfwSO AWESOME!

I was really reluctant to watch this episode at first, but they did it so well. Arya's reaction was incredible. Much more powerful than Sansa's screaming (no fault of the actor, it's just the difference between the characters). Didn't care for Tyrion's scenes much either (though Bronn and Tywin are great), but Catelyn/Robb, Daeny and King's Landing more than made up for them.

It's been ages since I read the books - was that Yoren holding Arya at the end? I can't remember the significance of Ned's "Baelor" either, though I'm sure I'll be reminded soon...

I can't believe we're coming up to the end of the season already! How far we've come.

P.S. I think I've said it in the thread for every episode, and I'll say it again: Catelyn is awesome. I love how she's so reserved yet you can so clearly see each emotion. Probably my favourite cast member, to my immense surprise. Gives me chills to imagine her...um...later... (trying not to be spoilery!)
