There is one episode that I think makes a point that I have never seen mentioned.
House of Quark
This is mostly regarded as a comedic episode but consider the lesson in accounting. Double-entry accounting is 700 years old. Is there any reason that it should not be mandatory in our schools? What would the American economy be like today if it had been mandatory since the 60s?
One business woman told me that the 2008 crash would not have happened. An accountant told me that he would not mind as long as it was not done until after he retired. A Swedish high school teacher said he objected because the math would make Capitalism seem logical. He claimed to be a Socialist.
Our nitwit economists cannot tell Americans what they have lost on the depreciation of automobiles every year since the Moon landing. Could it be $10 trillion by now adjusted for inflation?
