Who would think such a thing?

well if this isn't obscure as all hell.

just a stab in the dark, I'm going to say Jaime, thinking about Tywin's opinion on Cersei

Tyrion about Tywin's opinion about Gerion's quest to Old Valyria.

2/3 is good enough. Take the stage.

Ser Jaime is correct. He is referring to the garrison and court of Darry Castle, not that that matters.

zmorgas, you're up

Sorry to say, you're wrong again. I think a clue is in order: the father, that is being referred to, is a member of one of the major houses.

that's funny, because I am thinking it might actually be Arrianne but I couldn't remember how to spell her name so I settled with Quentyn (I just read his first chapter so I could remember his name)

I don't recall Arianne ever saying her father taught her anything. Too proud that girl. To Quent, it could apply. Because he left early so his father never taught him much and at the same time whatever he did teach him couldn't really come in handy in his quest.

It was Arianne, she was thinking how Doran taught her that a small party is better than a large one, on account of attracting less notice.

Srylanna's up.
