I don't think justice will come to old Walder, I think he ends up dying peacefully in his sleep or perhaps while having one last go 'round with his young wife (producing yet another Frey of course).

However... upon his death, House Frey will destroy itself through infighting... so justice of a sorts, but not while he's alive.

I agree with you, I always thought Walder would get away with his atrocity's. Though seeing his house fall after his death would be nice, but still not as nice as seeing him get a good needleing.

i agree with krishla, Walder Frey is not destined to meet the blade of an enemy. He will likely die a peaceful (or perhaps blissful) death. But the resultant infighting to see who takes the Twins will destroy House Frey's power utterly.
Considering the multitudes of heirs, their various new authorities, especially amongst the children of his first wife (since Emmon Frey is now Lord of Riverrun, perhaps the only person likely to NOT get involved in a fight for the Twins).

I must admit that the thought of Walder seeing the ruins of his house and possibly laying in the streets of King's Landing with a begging bowl around his scrawny neck might be more appealing than Walder being flayed by Ramsay Snow.

Nah, I'm still voting for the flaying. The withered old ^&&(* should provide enough skin for a nice fool's cap.

All kidding aide, maybe he won't be killed. There are worse things than death.

And I daresay the old curmudgeon would prove to be too tough for Lord Manderly taste....

I kinda hope he doesn't die (I mean he can't live forever but you know what I mean!) There are indeed fates worse worse than death! He will lose all stripped off land and title most of his family dead, there are a few who have my permission to survive! but most of them are toast, all but Walder himself!

I've been saying for years that he's not going to die a horrible death. I'm not even entirely convinced that his House gets their comeuppance. I still think too many people look at this series in terms of black and white or good and evil and that everything will be happy in the end with the "right" people in charge. All I see if a bunch of greys where "good" is defined by which perspective you're looking from. Arya is the perfect example. If you look at her story arc from a perspective other than hers, you actually come up with a borderline "evil" and unlikable character. Remember when Jaime was a bad guy?

Personally, I don't think he'll meet the edge of a blade, but there is going to be no peace of mind for House Frey. At the moment, they're dropping like flies. They have enemies everywhere, and their allies distrust and despise them.

No one will wed his daughters or sons. Personally, I think he will live to see his carefully laid plans to gain greater status for his house come to ruin. If House Lannister loses the throne, who will memorialize House Frey, and all that old Walder sacrificed?

If Walder Frey dies, he will die abed, with nightmares, stomach ulcers, and discontent.

If he doesn't die, may he live to see 1000, and 1000 sons and daughters wallow in his shadow, awaiting his timely demise in vain, unwed, and childless so that no one else may know the shame of growing into a Frey - or, the seven forbid, marrying into a Frey.

As much as I'd like it to happen, I just don't see a scenario where someone kills him. He's too old to leave the Twins and is surrounded by too much family there. And if anyone in his family was going to kill him, I think they would have long ago. However, as large as his family is, they're far too unstable to survive intact without their patriarch. He's the only one that unifies them all.

But a little girl that happens to be able to change her face and knows the way to the Twins might easily be able to slip in and slice his scrawny throat.

If Walder lives, it would be pretty galling for him to see someone he dislikes taking over the Twins from him. Who do you think would annoy him the most? Edmure, perhaps? Arya? His current wife?

Perhaps Sansa, who would remind him most of Cat.

Yeah I'm rooting for this theory! Only problem is he's not on her list, and she's not (yet) aware of the many grievous crimes he perpetrated against her family.

According to this forum, Arya is tabbed to murder every single disliked character in the series. I honestly have no idea what her role will be in the future but I'm pretty sure super assassin isn't one of them. There's not enough time to complete her training (unless he starts adding more books) and she hasn't demonstrated any ability to put aside her Stark self. We'll see.

i don't think anyone really thinks that Arya will kill everyone from the boltons to Cersei, with the Hound, Robert Stron and Walder Frey in between, it's all speculative and probably wishful thinking in some ways. I do think that I wouldn't want to be on Arya's list though, and that she's closer to completein her training than you're suggesting. Keep in mind that she's been at the temple for quite a while now, and has earned her Black and White robe. I don't think that's a small thing, and to me it suggests that she's closer to finishing than some might think.

I think that of the people on her list Cersei and Payne have the most to worry about.

BTW, being prepubescent, Arya could eaily become a boy, at least if she was clothed. SHe's already assumed the idenity of Arry and gotten away with it. As a FM she could pull it off even better. Perhaps take the shape of Tyrion somehow, and kill Cersei as him to fullfill Maggie the Frog's prophecy.

It's probably not possible, but it's fun just to speculate.

I think she'll go after her own list, and if she learns of what Walder Frey did to her family, possibly him as well, but that's it. The Boltons belong to Jon.

Fair enough. Maybe she is close to completing her training. The only thing is that the kindly man still wants her to forget Arya Stark. He can still tell she's lying when she answers that she's "no one". My interpretation has always been that she has to completely forget her past self, her list, her sword, everything if she wants to become a Faceless Man. I admit that it could also be interpreted that he simply wants her to control her emotions so well that he can't tell she's still Arya Stark deep down. I.e. to truly be "no one" to everyone else in the world.

Here's the thing - and perhaps this belongs in another thread - I just don't think she's going to complete her training and become an assassin. In fact, you're partially the reason why I don't believe she'll become a Faceless Man. In your Faceless Men thread you posed a few challenging questions (the ones just after point 3). I believe those questions will be answered. And, of course, I like to keep things simple and look at it from a practical (technical?) standpoint and simply note that the best way to answer these questions would be to be on the inside of their organization. We need a POV for that and we have one and that's Arya. So that's it: I believe her role will be expose that particular mystery. It doesn't sound too important but it's actually grounded in the deepest machinations of the entire world which makes it huge and gives Arya a huge role to play that doesn't necessarily involve murdering a few annoying and relatively insignificant players (relative to, you know, manipulating who sits the Iron Throne as well as who controls everything in the entire world).
