(Spoilers) Jaime and Rickon

I wasn't being that serious, but what I was referring to was not possession, but the involuntary seeking of home, of Winterfell, of the vaults**. (Which would, if I were genuinely theorising about it, explain why Arya, who was close by at the very moment of Ned's death, did not seem to be affected.) Bran was old enough to rationalise the contact as a conversation. Rickon may simply have been... well... spooked.

** - Of that dragon sleeping beneath its walls. ;)

Or it may have been Ser Meryn Trant, hence all those times that particular Kingsguard tried to slap some sense into Sansa.

I love the idea of Ned having warging ability, but we know from the Varamyr that one's parents don't have to be a warg in order for someone to have the gift.

I think Rob warged once when he called the banner men and the Great Jon defied him... He had his direwolf bite off the Great Jon's fingers... That was strange because the direwolves would usually go straight for the throat... And Rob's wolf didn't bite the fingers off Great Jon's sword hand...

Of all the Stark kids, Rob seemed to have the most control over his wolf... All the others including Jon's wolf Ghost would vanish for weeks. Rob's wolf was always at his side. It was said you never saw Rob without his Wolf by his side... The only thing came between them is when he married and his wife was afraid of his wolf. I remember Cat asking Rob where is his wolf... He said his wife didn't like the wolf around. That right there made me suspicious of his wife...

Interesting though about ROb warging just before great started doing his Davos imitation :)

It seems to me that Bran and SUmmer are failrly inseparable, but that might be wrong.

There is no evidence or real hint that Robb warged into Grey Wind in that moment. I think you may be reading too much into it.

It don't say he didn't either... As I read more of the books Rob remind me more of the other Wargs than the other Stark kids... The wildling wargs seem to always have their pets with them and have full control. Rob was the same way with Grey Wind... I don't remember Grey Wind ever running off... I am not saying Rob realized what he was doing but I think he was doing it never the less...

I don't think Ned would ever take over his own son's body to save his life... And that's a long warg... KL to Winterfell... Not even the warg in ADWD could warg a human that far... He had to wait for the lady to come back to try to take her body... I don't know did he need to touch her or see her but he couldn't do it until she returned... And he was a way stronger warg than Ned would have been...

Isn't Arya warging into Nymeria all the way from Braavos? Not saying Ned warged into his kids (I don't think so), only that long-distance warging appears to be possible.

Something I don't ever remember being discussed is, are "wolf dreams" and "warging" the same thing?

Wolf dreams and warging are different... I think with wolf dreams, you can see through the eyes of the wolf without taking over their body... I think if a animal love and trust you, you don't need to warg them... All of that other warg animals hated him and would tear him apart if they could...

That bring up an interesting question... Are the Stark kids warging or having wolf dreams other than Bran? It seem animals don't like to be warged but the wolves don't rebel against the Starks.

I see no noticeable difference between the wolf dreams and warging other than that they seem to dream without meaning to while warging awake takes an effort of will
Inetent though is what really matters. Arya's intent to move into the cat so she can see who is hitting her has very important implications, as does Bran being able to intentionally move into Summer or Hodor. I suspect that Jon has experimented with it, as he knows that the ability exists. Sansa is the one that I wonder about.

We know for sure that Arya warged into a cat.

I've kinda always thought that, if he survived, Gendry would somehow be legitimized to a Baratheon..Also there is Edric Storm, but my money is on Gendry keeping the House alive, maybe with Arya.

I don't think we've seen the last of Gendry. Of all Robert's children, he seems most likely to make an impact in a meaningful way. Edric reminds me of Tommen - sweet, innocent and pliable.

I agree totally. Gendry would make an excellent continuation of the line and he and Arya already squabble like they are married.:D
