Thanks PM and Chrispenycate for the shortlistings! Like shortbread, only nicer. To be honest it looks like this month the shortlistings were really longlistings anyway, SO much good material to choose from. It gets tougher ever month, which is only a good thing.

First off, thanks for the honourable mentions, Starbeast and Abernovo. Thanks to TheTomG for shortlisting me, and to Hex for adding me to your even shorter short list. To Perpetual Man for your kind words. And of course to High Eight for the vote – I'm blown away!

My own shortlist is as follows, and can I just add – it was a really tough decision to make. Well done to everyone who participated this month.
Abernovo
Reiver33
Grizzgreen711
Hex
Culhwch
Hopewrites
Moonbat
Alchemist
High Eight
Highlander

All of the stories were amazing, but alas, I was only allowed to vote for one. In the end I went with Reiver33 – well done!

First I want to thank star beast and perpetual man just for the mention thank you and I can‘t wait till next month‘s challege.
These are my favorite stories for this month
Nixie’s Death in a saloon
Harebrain’s el bruji
Mouse’s when a man with a .45 meets a man with a rifle
But I had to vote for perpetual man’s what really happened.
every story was great on one level or another:)

First I want to thank star beast and perpetual man just for the mention thank you and I can‘t wait till next month‘s challege.

I really liked your tale, it reminded me of the stories I used to read in horror comics. However I felt you missed on the theme "what lies beneath", a small mistake, but your tale was very well written.

I'm curious about what you'll come up with on the next challenge.

I don't know, Starbeast. So as not to let your words prejudice voters on that point, I'd like to say there is something in juelz4sure's entry that could actually be used as an argument to say the theme was met, depending entirely upon people's interpretation.

But I won't say what it is. People can decide on that point for themselves.

Hmm, AMB you may be right. I'll read it a couple more times. I tried not to sound too harsh because I really enjoyed Juelz4sure's tale.

This thread is not for critiquing stories. If people want to comment on what they like, that's fine, or if people want to post their stories elsewhere for advice after the voting is over that's fine, too, but criticism here is entirely against the spirit of this thread and the competition itself.

So to anyone who has been doing it, or is thinking of doing it: Keep that in mind when making your comments. Otherwise, we might have to start removing posts.

After a lot of serious thought I narrowed it down to Brev and TDZ and it became an almost impossible decision. In the end I just took a deep breath and just went with the first name that came into my head.

Probably not the best way of making the choice, but it is getting harder and harder to make a decisive choice.

How about flipping a coin? Or take a vote with relatives and/or friends.

But I do know what you mean, it is difficult to choose only one. I took me a few days.

Finally managed to break away from Skyrim long enough to read the tales! And consdier who to vote for.

First of all thanks to Starbeast, TDZ and Scott R Forshaw fpr the honourable mentions. I wasn't hopeful this month of any consideration as I was really striuggling to get any tale together - so much appreciated.

Now the short list - I was going to add all the tales (except mine of course) but have whittled them down to:-

Grizzgreen711,
Harebrain,
Culhwch,
Starbeast,
TacticaLoco
Mosaix,
Nixie,
Alchemist,
RSLiwinski
TDZ
Bob S.Sr.

I nearly tossed a coil between Harebrain, Mosaix and TDZ but couldn't find a three-sided coin...

I eventually chose Harebrain after much deliberation - great tale!

Thanks for the short listing Highlander.

You could have rolled the dice like Perpetual Man suggested (good idea, I may have to do that next time).

"Another time, Highlander!"

Many thanks for the shortlistings, Perp, Scott and Highlander!

EDIT: And the vote, Talysia! Wasn't expecting that when I checked the standings!

Thanks, PM -- I already had a vote, so I'm happy to share with someone who didn't have one yet! :D

And thanks, Highlander -- that is rarified territory indeed, for me, as the other two are the one I voted for and the one I almost voted for!

Thanks to, Aun, Highlander, and again to Starbeast for the mentions, greatly appreciated, also to Perp Man for the great review.
My vote went to Mosiax, great story. My first (unwritten) story took place on "Boot Hill" but could not get anywhere near 75 words, darn adjectives kept getting in the way.
Well pardners, I have to mosey along my pony is gittin itchy feet, Adios
