Ancient Egyptian Historical Science Fiction

Dear Timba:

I see that you are from Minnesota. I spent my first years as an assistant professor up at the University of Minnesota, Duluth during the mid-1980's. What an experience that was for a Chicago native!

Duluth, the city of endless snowfall coming off the lake and Minnesota's version of San Francisco's hills. :) I have spent a weekend or two there and enjoyed it greatly.

Thank you for the heads up on the books, I am in the middle of a re-read of a massive series but will be in the mood for another time and place when I am done and shall check them out.

Well, given the paucity of recollections regarding "historical science fiction" and "ancient Egypt," my trilogy should do quite well.

Hey I stumbled onto this thread because I am thirsty for Egyptian sci-fi/ancient tech type of stuff... Also interested to know what Timba asked about your trillogy..?

Are you into any of the alternative theories on Egyptian science and technology/pyramids..?

Also am from Colorado and have lived in Minneapolis and have visited Duluth:)

Cheers

I've read The Egyptian by Mika Waltari. I'd never really heard of any books that have science fiction elements set in ancient Egypt.

For historical fiction, I can highly recommend the Lord of the Two Lands series by Pauline Gedge. Over three books, it covers the revolts against the Hyksos pharaohs, told from the POV of a noble Egyptian family of ancient lineage. Gedge has been penning fiction set in ancient Egypt for almost 40 years, and knows her business. She crafts compelling stories without sacrificing verisimilitude.
