Another loooooong short list. I thought I was going to have to toss a coin or something, but then Culwhch's story sent a shiver down my spine, so I had to vote that way.

There is sooo much talent here, you guys make voting so hard...

Yes, there are 51 votes and 59 stories this month; but Mouse, Talysia and Olive Skye voted without submitting stories, and there were an unprecedented four members who voted never having participated in the writing side, so that leaves 15 :-
AlcubierreWarp, Aun Doorback, Culhwch, DarkPoet, Fishii, HareBrain, Highlander, Hmart, paranoid marvin, Starbeast, Teresa, The Judge, The Spurring Platty, Tisiphone & Ursa, Who wroted, not yet voted. Now, three of these are first-time participants, and might not know about how to go about the process (go to 75 WORD WRITING CHALLENGE -- March 2012 -- READ FIRST POST!! , and read all the submissions, then to POLL -- March Writing Challenge -- READ FIRST POST! and mark your opinion in one of the circles next to the story names, if you happen to read this post) while others are well known procrastinators, and last minute waiters ;), but it's not long now before all is tallied up…

And I will take the opportunity of this post for thanking Perp and Phyrebrat for noticing my little piece; I knew it wasn't the best I'd ever done, but life outside has been intruding on the metareality of chrons. Still, I couldn't not post, could I?

Thanks to hopewrites and Moonbat for the mentions. Made my day, they have!:)

Thanks to Hope and Phyre for the mentions, greatly appreciated, Hope your comments make you one of the ideal Perp fill ins while I'm changing nappies...

And SANDELS!!!!!

Some mentions for my first attempt, thank you all. Fingers crossed I get a good idea again, when I do I'll have to try tactics. Senior members posting close to the deadline has not gone unnoticed!

To be honest I try to leave off posting as long as I can (didn't do very well this time) as I invariably want to make changes after I've posted. After all I wouldn't submit a short story to a publisher/magazine the minute I'd finished writing it!

That's definitely true, but the case for me most of the time goes to blank whiteboard to idea to first draft to whittling down to 75 or less within half an hour at the most.

Yes Karn, and then I just find it so difficult not to post. There is also the danger that you work it so hard that it no longer flows.

That was my whole issue with my Redemption theme submission. I felt originally that it flowed beautifully but its original length was 418 words. *sigh* I should have kept a backup copy before I took a machete to it.

This is the first one I've seriously regretted not holding off with when I realised I could've given it a date as the title that would've changed it, but I'm thinking it was a bit too obscure anyway.

Thamks to all mi shortlisters and votors...

(Sorry about the speling - you try typig with yor tentaculs crosed!...)

hush puppies. brown leather hush puppies with immaculate tassels, and lovingly worn soles. oddly, most often without socks.

maybe thats why I see him in sandals. I was told that even when hiking on the coast I had to wear sandals.

Clairvoyant or a prophet you are not.:D I have never owned a pair of hush puppies. I have, however, often worn semi-dress shoes and have had a period where I lived in cowboy boots. (The day might come again after my weight loss.) I asked my nearly 30 year old daughter if she's ever seen me wearing shoes without socks. "Only at the beach." Which is exactly right. Thanks! I did think that was fun.

D.E.O. and Moonbat --- Thanks heaps for the mentions made my day as limp around here with a spasing muscle in my hip.
