Y'all tryin to kill me or something, I haven't even thought about doin' comments yet!

Is there any rule about when we are allowed to start leaving opinions on the pieces? I'm itching to start.

I don't think there's a rule about time, Rc. The only rule I'm aware of is that we shouldn't expand on our own stories in the discussion, and this thread is intended for positive comments about how wonderful we are :)

(if people want critiques they can ask for them afterwards in the 'Improving...' thread.)

Great, thanks. I'll start going through them later this afternoon after I've worked on some of my own stuff.

P.S. They all ARE wonderful so far, so I'd be hard pushed to critique! :D

As Hex says, RcG, no time limit or otherwise, but only positive thoughts, please -- this is a fun thing so we don't want anyone to be upset by even well-meaning critiques. And don't think you have to give a review of everyone, either -- no one's obliged to do that, except for Perp, who apparently has signed some kind of compact with the devil which enables him to produce mini-masterpieces each time.

Very bad spelling there TJ:)

Edit: Just looked it up and I'm wrong again - sorry

I'm worried - I posted my 75 word entry on my 666th posting!

And the Judge has already mentioned the devil - EEEKKKKKK.........
So has Gary....

Why is my seat getting so hot??

It's not at all well known, but the devil doesn't go in for theatrical blood-written-on-vellum covenants -- that's rather old fashioned. Instead, he provides a small cosmetic case which the recipient signs with a Mont Blanc pen. And whenever the compact is opened, the internal mirror shows the reign of Hell... or wrinkles and age spots... the two are very similar.

I'll be getting around to the comments soon.
After I recover from my swoon.
Just need to refresh my face,
Using this neat free compact - ace!
The devil have me if I don't start by tomorrow noon.

I HAVE TO WEAR MAKE UP!!??

The evil bu**er never said I had to wear make up, I should have read the contract!

Definitely not going to sell my soul like Perp has. ;) I only plan on reviewing some that really stood out for me.

Right, here are some quick reviews of the pieces standing out for me so far this month. I'll add more if the inclination hits. ;)

Sivermoon – This made me laugh. Wasn’t quite expecting the orc to be so blatant, but it worked brilliantly.

Reiver33 – I have a real soft spot for the styx mythos (it inspires my own work) so I loved this piece. There is regality about the woman, even in her disrobing, which is impressive given the word count. Adored the subtleness of the title too.

Grimbear – I’m just flat-out impressed with how quickly you put together a poem like this. I’m also insanely jealous.

Stevietee – One of my favourites so far. Everything about this appeals to me, from the mythos of the tree, to the double-edged sword of “justice” with the man and the girl. I’m not entirely sure how you managed to pack so much into a short space but it makes me want to read a long piece of yours.

Hex – Brilliant. Didn’t expect it to go the way it did. This taps into the whole “universal mythology” Jung speaks about, so I imagine this would be an attractive piece for many people. A classic.

Springs –This is so appealing to me. I love the quirkiness to it, the almost-but-not-quite lunacy. You know, it kinda reminds me of Pratchett.

Paranoid Marvin – So blimmin’ simple and yet so incredibly brilliant. The imagination behind this one is excellent.

Crystal haven – You always write so cleanly, and that’s something I don’t encounter often. You use your words wisely and create vivid pictures without the use of fuss. I admire your writing a lot.

I have posted my story!!! Good entries so far everyone.
