Well, a long listing is better than no listing. Thanks Starbeast. :D

The tough part for me was having to choose only three stories, I always feel awful when I remove someone off my short list who has a good tale. I always like a good monster tale Lilmizflashythang.

Thank you Starbeast, glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks Starbeast and Phyrebrat! :D

Keep up the good work R J Dando and TheDustyZebra, both of your stories were very well written with great imagination about ghosts and time travel.

Thanks for the mention, Starbeast: "Quite an unexpected ending, very cool." My first draft was twice as long and I had to cut out a lot that probably would have given away the ending much earlier.

Trimming a story to fit 300 words is tough, especially when you can add even more great stuff to heighten a story into greatness. But in your case, you wanted to shock us at the end, good move Denise Tanaka.

I'm back!!! Did you miss me? I missed you.

Thank you very much for the votes and the mentions (I promise I will thank people properly when I get myself sorted out*)

I've now read through all the stories and -- eeeep. There are so many good ones I have no idea how I'll manage to reduce my shortlist to three.

Welcome back HEX to a grand surprise, the majority of the votes so far are keeping you in the lead. And I highly agree with you about so many excellent tales to judge three winners from.

A reminder to everyone who hasn't read all the stories yet:

You have only until midnight tonight to read them and vote.

Grins at Theresa and announces:-

Submitted but not voted Brev, Culhwch, DthenB, kiffinyjean, Moonbat, Mosaix, Paranoid Marvin, RcGrant, stevietee, The Spurring Platty and Ursa Major.

Special commendation (voted without prior submission)HareBrain, nixie and Talysia.

That's from my list,so could well be well be missing someone.

I notice that when I voted I failed to mention my (not particularly) short list; and it's lost somewhere between two computers. And I would like to thank Mouse, Johnnyjet and Scott for the mentions, and obviously Perp for the vote; I don't seem to have got that done up to now.

Um- the two leading contenders have my vote? Strange, my taste must be aligning with the majority – or perhaps I've brainwashed lots of others to my point of view {it wasn't the peanuts, honest).

Sorry, having a hectic month - for all the wrong reasons.

I've voted for Hex, StilLearning and r_j_dandobecause their stories struck chords, and stayed with me between read-throughs.
