Sorry, it wasn't meant to sound like sour grapes. I was being more self critical. Having read it through again recently I could have done a more personally satisfying job of the entry.
I must stick a mental post-it note over the submit button but then I suspect my exuberance will crumple and toss it into my mental bin :)

I didn't think it sounded like sour grapes. I thought you were being too critical of your story, which I thought was a very good one.

It was a wonderful month for stories. As always, I am proud to be a member of our writing community here, there is so much talent, which these challenges always bring out.

I've watched both the Olivier and Branagh versions too often to count, and the irony of closing the wall with the dead and breaching the wall/fence by the dead appealed, plus, as Teresa says, it has the feel of a WWI poem which added to the whole thing.

Oh, TJ, I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one! I had a tradition for a while where I would watch Henry V (Branagh) every year on St. Crispin's Day, which is hard to find on American calendars for some reason. But the kids have kept me from that in the past few years, alas. I have to get back to that again soon. I would marry Kenneth Branagh for that movie and his Much Ado About Nothing, but unfortunately my husband wouldn't approve. He does holler, "there's your honey" every time Branagh comes on TV, though. :D I had to watch the whole darned opening ceremonies of the Olympics just to see if he was going to come back.

So yes, DEO, I got your title too.

Thanks Teresa. I agree it was a good month. So many different takes from that single image. Roll on the next one.

I'm not quite that bad, but I'll get the Non Nobis in my head and have to go and watch it again -- I love the incidental action after Agincourt where he's carrying the boy's body, with Mountjoy having to catch the French woman running at the King.

I can't watch the Much Ado. I saw him on stage with Samantha Bond as Beatrice, and she was incredible, far better than Emma Thompson to my mind, and it was directed by Judi Dench, so the memory of it rather spoils the film version for me.

Ooh, I'd love to see that -- but I'd hate for anything to ruin the film for me! It's probably ingrained enough to be ok, though.

And darn you, the Non Nobis is what's been running around in my head since yesterday! :D

I know how you mean. I write something - look it over - post it - then I look at it again the next day and think 'hmmm, that could be better.'

I'll have to make some kind of rule where I wait a few days before I post anything (not just here - in the critiques threads too)

How's it I never got a 'photo provided by Mouse' like the other guys got? :(

You need either a retrospective or postumus one. Cant remember which:)

I seem to remember yours was the clock?

Because I asked you and you said "no." I asked were you sure, and you said "yes."

It seemed odd at the time, but I honored your wishes.

I could add it to the Challenge thread, if you like ... either Mouse or E J Tett ... but Brian is the one who posted the article about Boneman's victory and I can't edit that.

Dives for cover and waits for the feisty rodent to speak up to the goblin princess.:)

Don't think I said 'no.' Pretty sure I said I didn't mind either way! (Which I didn't). And that was about the photo posted on the comp bit. I didn't realise names went up on the home page - I seem to remember some wording being changed for it, but I was never asked about my name for that bit. Anyway, doesn't matter! Was just saying.

I'm not saying I didn't care, I'm saying I didn't mind. At the time I was just happy to be asked so was happy to go along with whatever was decided for the comp.

I found our original correspondence. I asked you if you wanted a copyright notice, and you replied that you weren't worried.

That sounded like no to me (obviously I was wrong), so I didn't add it.

Everyone else, I've asked, "Do you want your real name or your Chrons name" not giving them the option of no photo or image credit.

Yeah and I wasn't worried cos everyone knew the photo was by me anyway. I'm talking about the home page! Just wondered why I wasn't asked about that and I've only just noticed the other's photos with their names all on their pics on the home page. Guess I just felt left out, that's all. Not to worry.

Unfortunately, I didn't have anything to do with posting the article for that Challenge, since I didn't have access to the front end in those days. Probably, Brian went by what he saw in the thread.

Anyway, I'm sorry it isn't there.

No worries! I just wondered why, that was all. I wasn't complaining.

Is it not possible for an admin to go and add that information.

If not, certainly text could be added to the original image in the images folder on the server.

Just a suggestion:)
