Are women writers more explicit?

The thread title made me chuckle because i have been thinking the opposite. I think some male authors i have read in SF,Fantasy try too much to explicit, macho in the sex scenes. Richard Morgan for example in Kovacs series, the sex scenes was bad because they were too graphic, anatomical details. Far from a good erotic sex scene.

Several famous fantasy male authors specially in Sword and Sorcery, heroic fantasy genre today have the same unnecessary, must be macho in sex scenes thing.

Usually i dont care, i just read through. I have not seen too explicit sex scenes in the books by female authors i have read. I tend to avoid the erotic, romantic genres.

I watched a documentary about 50 Shades of Grey last night, I had to knock it off in the end, it sounded dreadfull
Biggest problem was the language used, some parts were read out and it sounds so lame:eek:
If an author is going to write about explicit subjects, why would you use lame language and words that dont even describe what is going on.
One person mentioned its because most people are uncomfortable with the correct works for the human anatomy. Well I prefer proper words used
