I thought the Hal and King civil war story was kind of lame. It never felt like it was a major focus for the book....it all wrapped up with no feeling that anyone was really ever in trouble.
I did like the four Magicians story line though...Tomas felt a little forced too.
On the plus side, I really liked the last 20-30 pages. It was good, it was emotional and after being a fan of the series since I was 14 or 15 it really got to me. The last part with Philip and Magnus was a great way to end it all. I kind of hope he leaves it at that though.
