Sci-fi terrorist weapons

To get back to the antimatter. You could have very, VERY tiny little bits of antimatter enclosed in some sort of substance which doesn't interact with them (like maybe dark matter, and that enclosed in a regular matter shell) to make them safe to store and handle. Transistors, when first invented, were enclosed in big gobs of plastic so they could be seen and wired. You could rig up something which would pierce the enclosure when they needed to be used. A sort of grenade for a big finish.

Or just have the enemy swallow a pellet somehow, and let digestion do the work.

I had to read back through to see what you were talking about with the jam. Napalm is what I would call what you're talking about.

I see your slow heating solution as being very problematic. In the first place you have to be awfully lucky or incredibly prescient to have that thing burst at the right time, and not for instance five minutes after the rest of the patrol has passed. Also, we tend to notice tripwires after we step into them (you can actually trip), so the likelihood of the point man tripping a wire and the rest of the unit walking on obliviously is hard to believe. I mean, wouldn't you follow the string and figure out what it was attached to?

Some other employment options for your napalm jam:
1: A small explosive to spray the material everywhere. The explosive may light it, or maybe not. You may need an extra source of flame to light the napalm.

2: Molotov cocktails. Fill up glass or otherwise breakable bottles with your napalm jam, stuff a rag in the opening (helps if the rag is soaked in your cooking oil or whatever flammable stuff you're using. Light the end of the rag and throw at your enemy. The bottle breaks on impact, spreading flaming goodness.

1,2,3,4... Napalm sticks to kids!
