So I finished the book last night. Jordan does like his everything-suddenly-breaks-loose-in-the-last-ten-pages endings, doesn't he! When I was only a handful of pages from the end I wondered if the blurb had lied to me and they weren't going to go to that dead place.
And good lord, Rand's going to be insufferable now he's killed a woman. That was all very random -- that she disappeared in the first place, then somehow managed to survive all that time until that night.
Also my belief is stretching thin that Rand can continually get almost mortally wounded and then be up and fighting stuff again as soon as he wakes up!
Kids! I hate them when they're added to books and films because they just get into trouble and need rescuing all the time. I can't stand the first Ice Age film for that very reason. And probably added to by my general nonchalance of kids
But I can do without Olver altogether. But I suppose it was more Mat's Chance ta'vern and ending up staying in the city just as the Seanchan attack.
And where do these new people keep turning up from? Is the dude that helped Rand at the end the guy who is looking after Mog -- and presumably the guy spying on the other Forsaken, seeing as he's got the black specks of True Power and Rand couldn't feel any saidin from him?
Speaking of which, what happened to Slayer? Does he come back? Has he come back and I just haven't noticed yet?
Also also also, what were those two Forsaken up to with the Shaido? Were they just scattering them around to cause trouble all over the place, or purposefully separating them so they'll be crushed by various armies? I mean, I'm glad because they were another annoyance that needed getting out of the way -- unless I misunderstood the whole situation?
But still, yay Ny and Lan! I wish the rest of the books were just those two kicking ass, taking names and being adorable.
