Capitalisation of rank in military stories.

Fun fact: Starship Troopers Mobile Infantry were inspired by the Boer units, too. Actually, highly mobile (usually mounted) infantry units have been around for ages. Since the 16th century, according to Wikipedia.

That's a bit of a leap from boers to rocket firing power armoured space fascists, but I guess that's a testament to the fertile sci fi imagination! :D

I doubt this, somehow. Heinlein use to be a marine.

They've screwed the movie, BTW.
