Star Wars: Rebels

S03E06 - will wait for @ctg to do the proper write up but just wanted to say.....

Space mom Hera telling the kids not to scratch the car (okay, ship) when sent on a recon mission. Love it! :D

For thousands of years Mandarole were considered the elite among all races in the galaxy, and it wasn't until the arrival of Emperor's Imperium, when they started to slip from the glory to being disgraced as a footnote in the grand scheme of things.

How far the apple has fallen from the tree?

It's a good question, because you meet one, you certainly know their proud heritage of being supreme force in the galaxy. Sabina is a good example of that. She is a proud, strong and young woman taking on her shoulders burden of genesis. The others have always been a problem, and it is their inaptitude of being able to take part of racial inheritance that is the problem.

Instead of rebuilding the clans and showing the power, they've decided to live in shadows of their former glory almost as if they're afraid of taking what is theirs. Emperor exploits that and if you look at the red armoured leader at below you can almost see Emperor's Royal Guards.

Not talking about the moment you hear them swearing loyalty to the Imperium, you know times for the rebels in Mandalorian system are coming to an end. The clans are splitting. Most of mandarolians are scattered in the galaxy to be bounty hunters or high grade mercenaries, while only a small percentage gets accept under Emperor's Royal Guards.

In other words, Mandalorians could never be never all in same side, not without a strong leader to unite the clans. Is Sabrina one to rule over them?

Don't think so. Not without the black sabre. But even then I believe there's so other person to take that seat. In the meanwhile its going to be battles between the supertroopers. So, I'm glad some of them decided to join the rebels.

They really needed heavy hitters on their side.

PS. Loved Ghost's new painjob.

YT-2400 Freighter called "Outrider." This proto Millenium Falcon will be featured in the October 19th episode called "Iron Squadron."

Glorious Episode. Definitely one of the best in this season.

Rebels have come a long way to reach a point of open warfare. Nothing that happened was hit-and-run tactics as the Rebel Fleet showed proper naval tactics against Grand Admiral Thrawn's Imperial Fleet.

Not only we got to see naval action, but the whole event was tied to appearance of a YT-2400 class Corellian Freighter called "Sato's Hammer." A prototype Millenium Falcon! It even had all mechanical problems, including pilot who thinks about being bigger than the Emperor.

Although I claim this to be Millenium Falcon, the iconic vessel make appearance in the Episode I, therefore completely throwing out the fact that this is first chronology look in this class of vessels. Throughout the making of Rebels the makers has made their best to give us viewers and fans correct chronological evolution of Star Wars vessels. And that is the reason why I throw out Easter Eggs and accept SW:Rebels reality as my own.

"Can you get on with it, please?"

Sorry for rambling. It is just so hard to not get stuck in the details, when you're talking about the Star Wars references. Especially their iconic ships, or the fact that in most movies they failed spectacularly to show proper naval tactics.

In this time-period there is Emperor doesn't have better tactician than Grand Admiral Thrawn. And it was pure genius from his side to bait the game with a light cruiser. He made Sato's son to believe there's not much bigger fish out there. The fact is that most of the people in the galaxy haven't witnessed Imperium's real might, because the distances are so vast and technological levels vary in the galaxy.

Thrawn knew Commander Sato couldn't his son to Emperor's wolves. But he didn't knew would Sato send out whole fleet to save his son. You can only admire those moves on the board as one of the best examples of proper naval action in Star Wars history. Every action was responded with a tactically sensible move without ever overwhelming the sky above Mykapo.

Grand Admiral could had done so much more. But he never does, because the game he plays is larger than the size of whole rebellion. Altough the fact of seeing him in the battlefield is evidence itself that the Rebels are becoming top agenda in his mind, while he commandeers Imperium expansion over the galaxy.

Maybe skies over Mykapo are one of those places Ezra saw in the Force Event with Maul?

What did you think?

There is no rebellion without blackmarket, but there is a blackmarket with a rebellion. Criminal and those who are forced to live in outside realms of civilisations has no choice but to form a relationships with those that provide. In Star Wars galaxy the Imperium is hardly providing its citizens anything other than security and problems if it's crossed.

It's an ugly truth, but at least it's a truth in the web lies. Hondo lies because he can't help himself. There is no pause button for his schemes. Not even when he has a gun pressed on his head. Although that saves him and has eventually made Hondo form relationships without outside partners.

"When Hondo profits, so do you." - Hondo, the space-pirate.

That's his motto and he always has his friends needs in mind ... for profit. Most of it will go for him in any case, but not a single time had he has failed to deliver items. It's just you have to listen endless explanations to get best laughs in Star Wars canon, while you can almost guarantee there's going to be a danger lurking around.

In this time, one of the Imperium's Sentry Droids. A huge advancement from the Trade Federation battle-droids.

They almost look like terminators, but they act worse. Where as proper droid went down from few shots, these things take more than a fair share of plasma fire. War, war never changes, and rebellion isn't ever without a fight.

Or profit.

I so hate for not being able to edit my posts. I read them time and again cursing grammatical and spelling mistakes. I cannot help myself when I write these posts. I'm naturally dyslexia, and I cannot for life of me see the mistakes, when I create them.

It makes me look so stupid. Both in Finnish and in English.

I can also clearly see that this thread has readers, which in return builds confidence in me and my work, which is mostly invisible, because I haven't published anything professionally. I don't intentionally mean to make so many mistakes. Apologies.

Disney and Rebels production team has done a remarkable job with season 3. Stories are much better, while Star Wars technology get as much development as does the characters in general. Maybe that's why this series is so popular.

They should get some serious recognition for the work, and dedication they shown for keeping Star Wars real. Well done Disney, Dave Filoni and rest of the Rebels team. Spectacular third season so far. I cannot wait to see what they have reserved for rest of the season!

When I saw the episode title I knew The Inside Man couldn't be nobody else than Agent Kallus. So a minus point for being so obvious.

The rebellion isn't tied to one fleet, one planet or even to one man. It is everywhere, and it keeps spreading like a bad rash. I was sure that wasn't thing that went in Grand Admiral Thrawn's head when he willingly subjugated himself for the mundane task of a factory inspection. Mere factories isn't part of his daily routine. I'm sure he will never stop thinking and planning, and some people might even see parallels in him to many famous British Redcoats - before they lost the land to the Americans. They too were infamous for putting ruthlessly down any uprising in native populations.

In the case of interstellar incident, the Grand Admiral knows that if this rash gets any worse, he will first get a visit from Darth Vader and if that doesn't work, he'll possibly gets an unwanted audience with the Emperor. If anything the Emperor is one man Grand Admiral fears, and maybe he is the reason why he is so willing to push much farther than any other Emperor's generals during the Clone Wars.

Just one thing, Thrawn isn't a brown nose. He is the opposite to the Sith even though he has red eyes. The methods, even the most brutish ones has a reason. Just like it happened in the factory, because a single death means nothing to him. Not a man, who can send billions into Davy Jones locker.

Unlike the leaders of our time, he isn't exactly afraid of doing things, meaning where as Mr tRump might say something, Adm. Thrawn really meant what he said, when he announced: "You test everything you build. Personally."

He will feel nothing for snuffing a soul, where as Agent Kallus is quite the opposite. Just look at his face.

Kallus is really scared of his new master. The Grand Inquisitor was easier master. Much more forgiving than Thrawn on his better days. And that might even be the real reason for him to became a Confidential Informant for the rebel movement. They don't have many CI's inside the Imperial Navy. Certainly not people that has Kallus level access to the classified information.

The war in the stars has never looked this gritty. Not really.

I love it.

Maul, Bantu, the Black Sabre and the Nightsisters!

This episode was an early Christmas present to me. A surprise I didn't expect to get, because I don't really check the Rebels episodic broadcast list. Personally, I don't want to know exactly what they've in the storage waiting for us. But this one, I didn't expect it to broadcast on this half of the season, because the Rebels narrative has focused so hard on the Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Expansion of the Interstellar Rebellion.

However, the way they fit this one in was perfectly done, because we also know Rebels has been pushed out from the Mandalore. There is nothing much they can do to alleviate the situation without using something major like "the Black Sabre."

PsZ6Q9p.jpg

It is the relic Rebels can use to unite the Mandalorian clans and possibly turn the tide for once on their advantage. They are a player, which back in the Old Republic almost conquered whole galaxy during the Mandalorian Wars. Although their great armada was perished, Mandalorians still pose a great threat to the Emperor.

If he would get the Black Sabre the galaxy would be facing really dark times, possibly leaving many planets looking like Dathomir. Desolate from all life. Maybe that is what the Emperor wants: To void the galaxy from all life and leave it sailing in the cosmos for eternity as a great mausoleum for the intergalactic travellers.

Evil people. Can't live without them, because it would disturb the balance. In fact, I personally believe that when the Emperor ordered the Nigthsisters executed, he disturbed the force balance.

Nobody talked about it. Not really. Not even Yoda registered it as the balance sifter, because the Jedi order was still so powerful and the Sith, weak. But as you saw it in this episode, the balance has to be restored.

If Sabine and Kanan had not disturbed the ritual, maybe we could even have seen Ezra and Maul bringing back Mother Talzin. I bet Grand Admiral Thrawn would absolutely love to a call from an old enemy. One demanding Emperor's head on a plate!

KOjqdCG.jpg

Which brings me back to Bantu and the Balance of the Force, because for all of it to work, the Nightsisters has to live again! Bantu and the Grey order has become a major faction taking over shoes Jedi left behind.

We only know two of them alive. Yoda and Kenobi. Kanan and Ezra are Bentu's allies. Maul and Ashoka are different think and I mostly believe Bantu is somewhat allied to both of them. Which makes four against Vader and the Emperor, leaving the force unbalanced.

Therefore, the Nightsister's has to rise again to balance the dark side. To oppose Bantu and the Grey order. If Maul would have resurrected Mother Talzin, the equality would be there.

Another thing that people might have not seen in the last episode is that there was a Jedi Temple Guardian mask sitting on Thrawn's desk. It got me thinking that Thrawn is possibly a force wielder. He even might have a latent Force Sight making him so remarkable.

One thing that Filoni's people missed in this episode was the Force Speed. It is a general power, available to all force factions, and Maul certaily has it. I believe Ezra is the same, but maybe it was too difficult to render in this episode, which was already full of Force powers.

Ezra and Maul used it to get away from the Force Spirits. Yet, they didn't even blur. They didn't even have a particle cloud in their wake, while it was certain that Nightsisters Cove was full of dust.

Otherwise I loved every second of it.

I had a thought about Maul's plot and as far as I can see SW universe has the technology to bring back lost species. The question however is: can Maul find it? Is he even capable of thinking that somewhere in the galaxy is the solution to his problem. I know that it presents itself as ultra-technology but Maul doesn't even have to dip into force and cause a disturbance Emperor would notice.

It's strange that there hasn't been more narrative on the Inquisitors or their hunt for the force-sensitive creature, because it is certain there is something out there that Grand Admiral Thrawn masks. I don't know when and if they ever will reveal Emperor's darkest secrets but I hope they'll provide more narrative into it at upcoming episodes. The Death Star isn't the scariest thing I can imagine in the Imperial Arsenal. It's those things that they do in the secret, far away from the rebels (and our) eyes.

It would be interesting event to see Agent Kallus travelling with Adm. Trawn to meet Vader at the Inquisitor project. Do you agree?

I haven't seen the Rogue One yet as it's somewhat difficult to go to a cinema with a wheelchair during the Christmas time.

I still haven't seen the Rogue One, but I have a general idea on what goes down in it. So don't worry if you want to talk about it. The Rebels will be back at Disney XD January 7, 2017.

Obi-Wan. Maul. Assassin droids. TIE Defender. Mon Motha and the Rebel Fleet. Man this is getting crowded. I hope people don't drop, because it looks there's a helluva arc coming in the second half with the revelation on what happened to Kenosha coming down the pipe line. I also have a feeling we are about to lose someone important.
