I love Honzo trying to ween Ezra on his side: "You can become a pirate jedi." He has been waiting ages for a right candidate to fall on his lap. :LOL:

"Ezra, your parents are alive!" and "The boy is the key to find other lost jedi..."

Man, I wish they would stop teasing us.

As the trailer makes clear, Gellar’s Seventh Sister Inquisitor is a formidable foe for the crew of the Ghost. Gellar described her new character as a “thinking man’s baddie” who “doesn’t just go in for the kill,” but enjoys the hunt-and-torture part.

The trailer also hints to the mystery of Ezra’s parents, which Ezra voice actor Taylor Gray said the show would go “very deep” into this year.


But of course, what everyone was there to find out about was the role that Ahsoka would play. Creator and executive producer Dave Filoni said that Ahsoka was not a new crew member, but “she serves the story, because you can’t just bring Darth Vader into this crew. Because he’d kill them. They need a Gandalf.” And Ahsoka is their Gandalf.

“She shows up when necessary. She’s dealing with bigger, darker problems,” said Filoni. As for what Ahsoka was up to between Clone Wars and Rebels, he added that there are clues throughout the season, answering that question.

The mystery of Ahsoka’s white lightsabers has also been addressed, with Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka) saying, “Ahsoka is no longer a Jedi, so naturally sometimes how I would think Ahsoka would react, she didn’t this season... They’re white, because she’s neutral.” While Filoni repeatedly compared Ahsoka to Gandalf, Eckstein said that she’s having to play her as more of the Obi-Wan.

She may be neutral, but that’s because she’s aware of the role the Jedis had in their own downfall. At the same time, Filoni says, “She’s still good.”

Ashoka is a grey jedi. Nice! I have been waiting for so long for the confirmation.

It feels like the female inquisitor is Bariss Offee. That would make it so much more personal for Ahsoka, not that her former Master, being now the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, isn't enough. I think it would be a nice story/character wrap up, though, for Bariss.
 
It's back and the season begins with a two parter that left me wanting more. Much more. Thing is the Siege of Lothal is a magnificent opener to the season and the producers would have had to work hard to top, when the season really begins. Don't get me wrong, because I loved watching it, but it felt like it was missing that something. Maybe it was because Rex and companions have become a bit crazy in their olden days. Still, I salute for the clone troopers hunting the giant worm in a place, where nothing should lives.

What did you think? Did Rex make it right, or did you feel as if a bit nostalgia had vaporised in the air?
 
I was wrong.

By episode three, or by second, if you don't count in the Siege of Lothal, you'll feel much better about last weeks episode. Or at least I did because everything is business as usual. Only in this final part of two episode opening, Rex and his companions really turn tables by stubbornly staying at the fight, while Ezra's gang flees the scene. Although it's very possible they could have done it and left the clone brothers to die honourably in a glorious battle between old school walker (AT-TE) and two AT-AT's, Kenan turns the ship around and makes the run for it.

I almost cried. I just could bare a thought Rex and companions made it to only die in the season opening. So, yeah, I agree with Ezra and I salute Kenan for pushing his doubts aside for the good thing. For bring the clone warriors to Ashoka and strengthen the rebellion to a point, where the Emperor sees no other way than to use the Death Star to send a message to rebels....

Well, that will happen eventually but for now as a result Emperor has send his new Inquisitor to handle the business. You might wonder why I use Emperor when the commanding officer on board of the Star Destroyed specifically mentioned Darth Vader. The answer is he is the boss and Darth Vader only serve as his iron fist - to lend the term.

Another thing that was really interesting was Rex mentioning two Mandalorian bases. I wonder what secrets are hidden in those places. Does anyone want to have a guess?
 
Things are looking good, really good.

Well, I have to say that Dave Filoni and his companions have made the beginning of Season 2 pretty interesting. The very first episode in this autumn was a low point but by the episode 4, things have changed a great deal as more and more Clone Wars cast appear in the Rebels. I'm not talking about Rex and Clone Brothers as Phy's favourite pirate Hondo has also emerged to push Rebels buttons in his unique way.

In the Clone Wars, the dark side of normal business wasn't that much explored, even the Huts got pretty limited exposure. But when you think about whole rebels operation, the criminal underworld should be big part of it. After all both of them are rubbing against the Empire, because everything rebels do is one way or another against Emperor's business. Same thing goes the corruption of the criminal underworld. So to me it's only fitting to see Hondo conducting his business in Empire's space. And what's more I loved how he tried to turn Ezra to become a "pirate jedi."

Why? Thing is, Ezra is showing more and more that he's not going through traditional Jedi training under Kanan's supervision. He's not even getting hints from Ashoka. Instead, he's more like Luke, but instead of leaning towards the light side, he's exploring the dark realm, which is the reason I have claimed that he's going to be a grey jedi. Nevertheless I don't think he's going to be ever like Ashoka.

What is also interesting is that he's getting proper training from Rex, while at the same time Rex balancing Zeb. It almost as if the producers have done the miracle and weaned out all the details that were wrong in the first season by bringing in the Clone Wars characters into the mix. And that's a good thing. A very good thing because with bigger cast, more things can be explored and the drama isn't just limited in Lothal or in deep space near Lothal system. Nor is it about main gang and their activities against the Emperor.
 
Even though I haven't added anything for a while it doesn't mean I have given up on the rebels. it's just so lonely to be replying on your stuff, but Rebels keeps impressing me. Not just with the cast, but how they expand the universe and explain viewers stuff that was seen in the original trilogy. This includes normal storm troopers, ships, weapons and everything else. So if you haven't watched Rebels, I recommend binge watching this series over the holiday period, and I promise you will be laughing your bottom of to the brilliant jokes hidden among the episodes.
 
I love Rebels! I really do... Solitary pursuit over here, as I'm the only one in the family that watches it. Ctg, I always like your posts, by the way, but sometimes they don't flag up in my 'alerts' and then I forget to check. The alerts are funny that way, they don't show everything!

And yes, I love
the way his training is now being handled both by Kanan and Rex.
 
This may not come as too much of a surprise, but Disney XD’s hugely enjoyable animated series Star Wars: Rebels has been renewed for a third season.

TV Insider broke the news, confirming that the third season of the show – which bridges the gap between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope, with a surprising amount of high-profile character cameos from the movies and The Clone Wars – will arrive in 2016.

We’d expect Kanan, Ezra and the rest of the Ghost crew to return, assuming they all survive the still-to-come events of season 2. Indeed, hefty events are being teased for next week's 'fall finale.'

Episode 2:10 was fantastic!
Not only do we find out that the inquisitors are hunting Force sensitive youngsters (the plot thickens, dum-dum-duuuh!) but we get to see Ahsoka in action...

It's understandable, especially through the expanded universe and playing against the sith in LucasArt SW games. The emperor knew that after eliminating the Jedi order he would get to acquire all force-sensitive new borns, even the weak one which would never have qualified to the training. And those two babies in galactic scale are a drop in an ocean. They are rare but not super-rare.

So, mark me as intrigued on what's to following in the season as there might more extraordinary sith troops than what we've seen so far. Even, if they're bringing them out, it's the only reason why Palpatine would require those babies.

Indeed, and in the reverse fight to Anadin's original debut on the silver screen. That battle was awesome!

By the way did you notice pure white blades and the saper handles being slightly curved? It hints that ventress is alive, but I doubt she hasn't left the sith order after Emperor's assassination attempt. She wouldn't have changed that much, would she?

That's what I figured... They're not killing them, and also going to some lengths to hide the kidnapping (as seen with the first child where they apparently killed most of the passengers?), so a nice little conspiracy thing going on there. They're taking the babies to Sith Hogwarts. :ROFLMAO:

I did noticed the blades and wondered at them... I guess 'wait and see' is the only thing to do at this point! :ninja:
 
The half season final was amazing.

This season has been vague in terms of last season revelations, so I was really glad when they visited the subject of Ezra's parents in half-season final. The feeling I have is that while the Empire is searching force-sensitive babies, Ezra was the first one to born after the Order 66 (minus Luke and Leia) wiped out the Jedi order. Maybe his parents even knew he was a special, but they never wanted to reveal him in fear Empirer's wrath. The question I see is: how many babies Emperor has and how many are out there, not knowing they've a chance to become a major force users? Does Ashoka know more than she's letting us know?
