publishing question: On Magical metals.

I did use mithril as a minor aside, until I realized that it made more sense to create my own similar metal. I now have Isacralt, which is similar to steel, but is only found deep underground and is a bone-white color.

I generally create my own metals/materials when I can. There's no potential risk for copyright conflict, it's more fun, and everyone is happier in the long run.
 
Also possibly some people in Iron age made steel by accident.

I don't see any reason to use Mithril unless I was writing a story set in Tolkien's Middle Earth.
