Apparently he was thinking of sizes and decided that half the height of the Empire State Building seemed reasonable. When he was at the quarry and looking up he said it was really big and the producers said the quarry was less than 400 feet high. They'd have to enhance it with CGI. GRRM said at that point he'd made it too big :)
 
Anyone have any thoughts on the latest comments from Martin that people aren't going to be happy with the show because its going to kill off characters he hasn't killed off in the books? Thoughts on who that might be?
