Yes, you read that right: this month you'll have an extra five words with which to tell your story, this being the beginning of the fifth year of 75-word challenges.

The Topic and Genre will be available in a few moments.

And the challenge thread is here.

Absolutely true. No April Fool's Day joke intended. Although we should have realized people might suspect that.

" Dr Livingstone, I Presume, Stepping out of the Jungle Gloom..."

Do the Moody Blues have less trouble, than I, parsing the nuances inherent in genre-obfuscscation?
Fantasy/steampunk?

It's not that I'm baffled... Just a bit disjointed.

Okay everyone let's review the episodes of the "Wild, Wild, West." Or better, reread T.E.'s Goblin Moon. Well it might not be steam punk Fantasy, but surely close enough to qualify.

And the genre isn't an April Fool's joke, either? :D

I could always hope....

Nope, it's not a joke.

However, the 300 could be. I'm guessing the 300 photo is a joke, because that picture is awful looking. Like a cheap totem pole knock-off.

But if I'm wrong about the 300, I'll take some headache pills and deal with it.

Hmmm, fantasy steampunk...fantasy steampunk. I'm not sure I've actually ever seen fantasy steampunk before. Escaflowne? Hellboy?

This is going to be an interesting month, I can't wait to see what people come up with.

I just noticed you entered the game already BenSt, but I didn't see who posted first (I don't read the stories until I have my own tale posted). You're a quick one BenSt, nice going.

As for me, I have a few ideas.

Awesome mention of Wild, Wild West from Parson, and Hellboy from you BenSt.

I'm thinking certain people might enjoy this because they could use, elves, dragons and...........ray guns.

Enough said. Time to put my pull-start, gas-powered thinking cap on.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'll be back. When, I'm not sure.

A little Googling should cure that. Or reading the whole Wikipedia article on steampunk.

I understand steampunk. I understand fantasy.

I'm just having a bit of trouble groking the juxtaposition.

Thanks for the input. I'm sure I'll manage to figure out how to cope with it.
};-}

Or not; but I guess that'll be my own problem. Heheheeheh.

That would be my wife thinking about me wearing a tool belt.

I'm not sure quite why; but it seems to give her a kick.

*Back hand over sweaty brow.*

"It's hot today... I've nearly completed constructing the Gazebo... I may have to set aside my Skilsaw and Spirit Level so that I have hands enough to remove my shirt... Some Iced Water would be nice, about now."
