Finished The Remaining by D J Molles - a pretty solid post apocalyptic / zombie novel, although very short. Im not going to continue the series though.

I did have every intention of trying to finish Royal Assassin by Hobb, but stumbled upon The City by Stella Gemmell and really enjoying this so far. Hope the promise of the first hundred pages bears fruit.

Poe: Poetry and Tales (Library of America #19)

1400 pages of EAP for once a book is a fat as i like and not some fantasy epic 300 pages too big.... The book of this summer for me by far. Im reading as an adult for the first time his poetry. I remember only reading The Raven in middle school.

Im just in early pages of the poetry category and the 13 year old Poe's poems that is not bad for a kid at all. You can think almost its written by the mind, skill of a mature other than the topics are a bit teenagy.

I've finished Brass Man by Neal Asher - Review Here

and with the Chronicles Reading List now completed I'm digging into the backlog of books to be read starting with The Wilful Princess and the Piebald Prince by Robin Hobb

Approaching the final pages of The Letters of Ruth Pitter: Silent Music, and have begun a rereading of Sergei Aksakov's Years of Childhood. I'll have to quite David Cecil's praise for it sometime. I'm also reading Ruth Pitter's poems. Have been browsing Bill Schelly's Founders of Comic Fandom, featuring profiles of about a hundred people, including a name that fans of a certain age and experience will recognize immediately, Howard M. Rogofsky. The arrival of one of Rogofksy's quarterly catalogs of back issue Marvel comics, etc. for sale was a "drop everything" event back in the day.

I ordered comics from Rogofsky a long time ago. Can you believe it? If you ordered Amazing Fantasy #15 you'd still have to pay fifty cents for postage. What a rip off!

I finished Under The Skin by Michel Faber, which is a very different story from what I can make out about the movie-adaptation starring Scarlett Johansson. In some ways a story that is closer to my own concerns, but also rather unsubtle and even heavy-handed in its allegory, yet leavened by an unpredictable plot and some moments where the book becomes smarter than itself, as it were.

In a rather strange and disconcerting post (for me) I have finished The Wilful Princess and the Piebald Prince by Robin Hobb in a day!!! (Well it is a short book but still!) next up should not take too long either as it's a graphic novel Rat Queens by Kurtis J Weibe and Roc Upchurch

Just finished A Game of Thrones, now reading A Clash of Kings. And I REALLY wish I'd read these years ago before it became impossible not to have the major EEK moments spoiled ahead of time.

Finished The Wizards of Caprona by Diana Wynne Jones. Second of the Chrestomanci series. Bought it for my children, and at their insistence, read it myself. Excellent, witty, well observed, original and humane ya fantasy.

I can't remember the last time I posted so much in this thread in one month!

Rat Queens is now finished. A good fun read for anyone who likes there Fantasy or comic books. Or both.

Next up Arms Commander by L E Modesitt Jr. This one is a bit bigger, so it'll slow me down

Read about 1/4 of After Midnight by Joseph Rubas. A couple of the stories so far were really good. He is a great author. To be honest it made me want to sit down and write...but im golfing soon instead.
