Discussion -- August 2014 75-Word Writing Challenge

Being my usual pernickity self, I have to say I thought some of the pieces missed the genre by being insufficiently SF-y, in that they could just as easily have appeared in a fantasy genre Challenge with no or minimal changes.

Guilty as charged! I saw the theme innocence and didn't look further to see it was SCIFI... That should have been worth a mention, my innocent culpability in not reading the full instructions, surely?;):D

A bit late on this (it's been a crazy week!) but congrats Ashleyne!! :)

Thanks for the mentions Azzagorn, TDZ and Teresa Edgerton!

Yes, I nearly had yours on my list, but thought twice about it because it was out-of-genre. A very innocent mistake, I'm sure. :p

Congrats Ashleyne! Such a messed up story I and many others couldn't help but vote for.

Thank you to those of you who listed my story.

It was a tounge in cheek story that I thought of when I woke up. For some reason I was thinking of the challenge and minnow scents came to mind in place of innocence. So I worked with it and came up with a zinger play on words story. I did think it had the SciFi aspect with the 'away team' going down to the planet to Supply an offering. It turns out they misread the translation and the tribe ended up throwing his son into the volcano as their 'innocent' offering.

So make sure to read everything carefully, lest your child be thrown into a pit :)

Good month everyone..on to the next one
