Which is better, Books or Show?

Actually a re-read after watching the series, might be the best of both worlds, you have the better dialogue and more detail, with the memory of the tv show scene, and fortunately the bad scenes from the show aren't in the books.

depends on how you are yourself. Some people prefer their fantasy about the world untainted by images.

I liked the images in my head better... because they were mine... and because they're not real, they're more like animated paintings.... like animated book covers. But then again, I think Tywin, Jorah, Tyrion, and Joffrey all look better on the show than in my head. And it's probably quite telling that none of the women on the show look as good as they do in my head.

Mmmmm, Dacey.

Like I said before: mid '90s Liam Neeson and Jessica Lang as Ned and Cat Stark. Scottish accents for the northerners and wildlings, not Yorkshire!

It's funny, I mostly agree but at the same time I remember thinking quite often while watching the show that the women were a little too pretty for reality... I rather suspect makeup, lipstick, and perfectly smooth, exfoliated, and shaved bodies weren't quite so common as the show would make it seem. Camp prostitutes like Shae at least probably didn't carry razors.
