Alice and Wonderland Knockoffs

To be honest, it was probably one reason why the Alice books were written in the first place. As I said, he originally wrote them for the daughter of a friend of his...I suspect he lavished a lot of attention on that friend and his family because he had none of his own. Would he have written them if he had had his own daughter? Maybe, maybe not, but I don't know if it would have been the same story. Is it possible he's had illegitimate children? Possible, unless he was virginal when he died, which frankly, I simply don't know.

I would have loved to see more from the original strain, despite my opinions on Through The Looking Glass, but, we must satisfy ourselves with the clones and games. Neverwhere I quite enjoyed, by the way, even though the main character was
a fish in a tree type who I felt Gaiman had to force justification for at some point.

Does anyone know of any of the present knockoffs that combine Alice with the Copenhagen Interpretation of Reality and/or Quantum Relativity in General? I've always wanted to see that done.

Alice in Wonderland never really did it for me, apart from as an abstract concept.

Of all the revisions I have come across, Raven Gregory's gory Beyond Wonderland comic series impressed me (although the continual padding of the world via additional comics/graphic novels did not). That being said, I would highly recommend the three core collected editions: Return to Wonderland, Beyond Wonderland and Escape from Wonderland.

The college income Dodgson accepted had condition that he take orders (he didn't much want to, but did take a Deacon's post created) and stay single. Any children are not documented.

Monica Dickens is (was 1915-1992) great-granddaughter of Charles Dickens. But quite different. I like her autobiographical humour and her Children's books (which are mostly quite late in her career).

I don't think that would even be legal nowadays. Strange how the Victorians abused their children and everyone gives them a pass on it to the present day. Look at Lovecraft and Emily Dickinson

No but I wrote a book years ago that was sort of like Alice with quantum physics.

There's a Dodgson Drive in A Game of Battleships, but I'm not sure what principles it works from!

Which bit wouldn't be legal?

The stipulation for celibacy? Part of the requirement for Oxbridge dons up to the end of the 19th century. Still fairly normal and clearly legal for Catholic priests today.
