Where is your favorite place to write

In our old house, I used to have a desk in what had been the dining room, but which was doubling as my office and my oldest daughter's bedroom, and was also the pass through from the living room to the kitchen. But the children were young then, and two were in school, only two at home. It's easier to put up with distractions when you're young yourself. But I've never been able to write in a public place.

Jane Austen had a little corner of a table in the parlor where she wrote her novels. I imagine, since the Reverend Austen had a numerous family, that there was a fair amount of other activity in the room while she was writing.

I would love to be able to work in a coffee shop (I love the smell of coffee; can't stand the taste though), but there would be too many distractions for me. I'd love to have a great view over the countryside or the sea, but might well be distracted by that as well. One day maybe...

As it is, I do work sat bang in the middle of my couch, with nothhing to stare at but a table filled with my homegrown tropical seedlings and the side wall of a shed outside the patio doors. Usually i have various notes and papers surrounding me on either side, and my iPad close at hand should I need to research something or take a two minute procrastination break.

That is where I write, but generally anywhere that is quiet and has few or no distractions is fine for me.
