It's October. What are you reading?

In the Balance - Harry Turtledove. I love the premise of this series (I'm a huge history buff and the Second World War is one of my favorite periods) and so far it's been great.

Finished Fluency by Jennifer Foehner Wells. In the end I would make it a 3 star offering. It had some original ideas and a likable Main Character. I think the problem with the book is that the whole book felt a bit like setting the stage for the real conflict. I will probably read the second in the series sometime, just to see if it gets better, but I'm not burning with desire.

Ancillary Sword Ann Leckie. Very good. Much smaller scale, and much easier to read than the first book in the series, Ancillary Justice (which was better, probably.) The basic scenario is reminiscent of something one might find in a Jack Vance novella, though the execution is entirely different (lack of Vancean wit, dialogue, lightness of touch etc.)

just read dragon's mage. quite funny :) didn't liked Interstellar Age by valmore daniels. nor PEACE WARRIOR series by steven l. hawk

That's interesting hitmouse - this is the first feedback I've heard on the sequel (I hadn't realised it was out).
