Star Wars episode 7: The Force Awakens

I caved and watched the trailer last night - it was awesome and gave me goosepimples.

I am so glad it didn't give too much away - as opposed to a lot of recent trailers.
 
I watched the trailer too. Awesome! And I'm not sure anything much was given away. The trailer seems to have the feel of the original trilogy. My anticipation has just gone through the roof.

Bugg... Clever, very clever.
 
Yeah it was fun to watch. I got excited for it, and no I didn't feel like it gave a lot away.

Even though I am disappointed with the prequels, I find myself looking forward to this new movie. It's off to a fresh start with a new director, while the original actors should be able to save it from derailing (I hope).

I know the story will be original, but I've actually never read any of the Star Wars novels anyway. I bought Timothy Zahn's trilogy a few years ago but didn't get around to reading it. Now I'm still thinking about reading those books before the movie comes out, if only to catch up with the rest of Star Wars original trilogy fandom.

If it helps im halfway through the Trilogy at the moment and I have been really impressed with the plot and pacing. Zahn seems to have done a great job and he really captures the characters "voices" very well. I should have a review up on my blog for the first two when I finish the current book.
 
I heard this morning on one of the local radio stations that people are pre-ordering their tickets for the very first showing, then turning around and selling their tickets for as much as $10,000 apiece.

$10,000!!?? .... That has to be an urban legend.
 
Mark... Asking $10,000 makes sense. Receiving $10,000 does not.
 
Very much looking forward to seeing this. A great trailer that doesn't give too much away.
 
also just watched Snatch Wars on youtube - I am NOT posting a link as although funny it is quite sweary
 
Have to say I'm underwhelmed by the trailer. Desert planet, youngsters destined to play a pivotal part in history, gravel-voiced baddie in a mask -- it's all very familiar and I didn't see anything new or interesting in it.
