Star Wars fan looking to branch out

I also recommend the Honor Harrington series by David Weber, I'm in the middle of the first book myself and I am really enjoying it. It feels a lot like the star wars books in how it's written but the story and setting is more like a military star trek.

Have you read the Caiphis Cain saga ? it's wonderfully comic in the tradition of Harry Flashman

I do agree that Warhammer does get a bit on the grim side but it has some pretty good writing and some very memorable and wonderful characters

Thank you everyone for all the replies, I will look closely at every single one of them. Looks like I will be busy over the next few months .

After finding a couple of stories that I didn't enjoy I was beginning to think that I might struggle to find stories I enjoy, but I see now that this should not be the case.

If anyone else has anything to add to the list feel free.
