Maybe, but we are all stuck with the same laws of physics. Even the intelligent aliens on the other side of the galaxy.

So we are stuck with issues like 9/11 and Global Warming and years of stupid arguments.

You're right, psik.
I have decided to only worry about things that I have the power to deal with.
I could drive myself crazy worrying about things that are out of my hands.
I try to do what I can to put wrongs right and support humanitarian causes.
I recycle my rubbish,though I doubt it really helps with Global Warming.
As for aliens,have you read Childhood's End by Arthur C. Clarke?

Of course, probably some time in grade school the first time. But physics affects everything including automobiles designed to become obsolete. So the effects of trashing how many cars across the planet since the Moon landing affects how many people?

Physics and applied maths are what we use every day,whether we're aware of it,or not.
To quote our Prime Minister,"We're all in this together."
We're all citizens of Earth.It is our duty to look after our planet and we are not doing that.
I often wonder what our legacy to future generations will be in the future.
At this time,it's quite a negative thought.

I think Deathworld II is the important story because it raises an etical question. Who owns knowledge? People hide information from each other all of the time. That is one of the curious things about the Internet. How many of us are blinded by the light? So much info so fast, how to tell what matters.

I haven't read any Roger Zelazny books yet.
I will get round to him,but at the moment I'm deep into Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson.
I may be gone for some time..................................:D
 
Witch World by Andre Norton which seems to be out of print.
 
I am now reading Callahan's Crosstime Saloon by Spider Robinson.
It was recommended to me by a friend.
It is a really good read,I'm enjoying it.

Maybe now; tastes may change. They were at the time; Google for "Andre Norton most popular" and there is a flood of references to the Witch World series.
I much preferred some of her others myself: the Time Trader series, the Dipple stories, Star Rangers, Star Guard.

I think Star Man's Son is as good as she got.

My favorite book as a kid, even past "Citizen of the Galaxy"
 
Among the earliest science fiction is THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS by Lewis Carroll, which is also fantasy. I'd raise this above many another SF classic. I've read it, read an abridged child's version of it, seen a Disney film of it and heard a radio dramatization of it. ("Oh, off with MY head, is it?")
