What you do to generate "Buzz"?

One snag with the Goodreads upload is that it doesn't show images in the book itself (or at least it didn't when I tried it). I queried this and they said that it was something that might be looked at in the future.

I approached a reviewer this morning to ask advice on asking for a review. He said most review sites have the terms listed (and check for bloggers, some of them are incredibly well subscribed to) and that a polite advance can do no harm - other than a no. But approaching agressively or sales-pitch-y like won't get too far, I think. We need reviews more than they need dime a dozen debuts and self-publishers, after all. So, I think a polite enquiry will do no harm. But then I think being polite and friendly generally nets more profits than shouting my wares from a rooftop. And it's infinitely more relaxing...

I researched the IndieView; filtered their list by SciFi; sent out ~20/25 requests; got 3 or 4 responses and (2 months) later have only 1 review so far ... but I am hopeful of a 2nd and maybe a 3rd... I also took the time to make most (all) of my requests personal

If you don't ask you definitely don't get.

Don't forget that some sites do interviews as well as reviews. So look for those who might be willing to interview you. Some will read the book and personalize the interview with insightful questions about your book and your writing, but some will just pull from a list of stock questions -- Tell us about your book. Who are your favorite authors? etc. -- and since this takes them less time than reading the book and writing a review, they're more likely to say yes. Then it is up to you to take the standard questions and craft answers that make you and your writing look fascinating.

When I was doing a blog tour a few years ago, more bloggers were willing to interview me than do a review because they were swamped with books to review.

I had a very similar experience. :)

This is a great tip. Thanks, I'll be looking into this imminently.
