Abendau's Heir by Jo Zebedee - Press Release

The ebook will come out on Amazon only for first 3 months (their rules) but paperback is available to pre-porder now. :)

But the paperback's not available to pre-order on Amazon, right? Because, if so, I can't find it.

No, TBP only to pre-order and for 4 weeks after publication. The reason is Amazon take most of the profits so my policy from now on will be this, plus I am currently setting up our very own Amazon - watch this space.

The author does all the work, I do a bit and they get rich. I don't like that.:(

EDIT I mean Amazon when I say "they."

Hm! Thanks! Parson now considers his options. Will get back to this later.

So, I was brave. I'm not very good at pitching, but I met with the manager of the main bookstore in Belfast, in the leading Irish chain of shops today, and she was really nice and supporrtive and encouraging.

The upshot is, for all you Northern Irish or Irish types, I should be with them at Comic Con in Belfast on the 2 and 3 May, in the King's Hall, chatting about sf, and Abendau (which will have a shiny new name by then), and no doubt recommending the chrons as a place-to-go. Hopefully, there will be other events in the stores in NI, including one in Derry. And, also, a launch event in Waterstones in Belfast.

So, for any Chronners in and around our wee Ulster, it'd be lovely to see anyone. And it would be amazing if, nearer the time when I have more details, you could spread the word.

And when I know more, I'll post the details.

Now, to lie down for a week. ;) (Actually to edit. Teresa is an astounding editor. But we all knew that, right...?)

Huzzah!

I know what you mean about self-promotion. Always makes me feel like Donkey from Shrek, jumping up and down shrieking "Pick me! Pick me!" with a wild combination of enthusiasm and desperation.

Indeed.

The most difficult steps are often those which are most important to take.

Mind you, still doesn't mean I have to like it.

Definitely. Wouldn't miss it for the world, even though my teenager, who will probably be there dressed as an anime character, will kill me for it!

It might give me an excuse not to get dressed up this year. :) my teen is well impressed, actually. This has kudos, Mum at comic con.

Thad, I dislike this aspect of it (although today was lovely because there was so much support) but I just think of all the hours I put in writing it and if it takes a bit of teeth-gritting to get it out there, so be it. Better than not and wasting all those writng hours...

Double post and all that there. Anyway, the Fbookers have seen this but poor Gary, oh long-suffering one, had done me a lovely cover. Except it suited book 3 better, I thought, and Teresa also wasn't sure how well it represented book 1, so I asked for a shiny new space opera cover.

Along the way I got a new title, Abendau's Heir, which reflects some of the edits I'm doing, and a new trilogy title, the Inheritance trilogy, which reflects the theme well. So I am all shiny and newed out. Anyway here it is and I'm in love with it:
