5.09: The Walking Dead - What Happened and What's Going On

I have a vague memory of Kirkman addressing this, and saying that while they weren't intentionally killing black male characters off, they'd pay more attention to diversity of casting. Hence Bob being "converted" from an older white guy in the comics, and perhaps stretching to the casting of Noah.. But Bob and Tyreese being killed not long after Noah and Gabriel's introduction has stirred this up again!

Honestly, the directors have been getting a lot of heat for not only that, but for introducing gay characters as well. I find it rather trivial in how they use ethnicity and sexuality in their scripts. Apart from having some diversity, which is always good to see. I must say though, the direction they've taken this season has brought me back. Terminus was an interesting development, but nothing that would be unheard of should such a monstrosity of a disaster take place. Sorry for bringing it back up. I found the discussion interesting. :p
