The Robot Spoke of Memories

The doctor's conscience made him rethink his scheme.

########################

Smith, nearly in tears, returned to the alien's ship. "I've changed my mind. I want my friends back! I miss Will, who was so kind to me. And his wonderful family, who've always found it in their hearts to forgive me of my foolish ways. I don't want to trade them for a chance to go back to Earth."

"Very well." They regurgitated the Robinson's. Guts, flesh and stomach acid splashed onto the floor.

"NAAAAAOOOOOO!!!"

"Oh? You don't want them?" They feasted on the half digested remains.

Smith vomited.

"Ahh, dessert."

Homework

Rosie didn’t drown the way I expected. No flailing arms and gasps for breath. Perhaps I’d held her under the water too long. I’d not got the information I needed.

“Write a story about drowning,” Mrs Bled had said, in English Class. “Let me know how it feels. Make me believe!”

Rosie sank like a stone, taken by the dark, filthy water of the local pond. It didn’t make me feel anything. Just annoyance it hadn’t gone to plan.

I only had one choice. My little sister enjoyed a walk. I’d bring her here – straight after dinner.

Lisa’s Last Halloween

Daddy came home from work on Halloween, but there was something wrong with his neck. His head wobbled about as if it were not attached right.

When he bent down to give Lisa a hug, she saw where they’d stapled his head back on, a line of red and black under a band of clear tape and the points where the staples pierced his skin.

Lisa fell back in horror as her body began to spasm in a violent seizure.

“No!” Daddy cried, “It’s just a costume!” as he struggled to pull the tape off.

But it was too late.
