Procrastinated the hell out of typing these up.
26. JON
Characters: Jon, Dareon, Sam, Pyp, Alliser, Donal, Haider, Rast, Albett,

Facts:
Jon recounts his dream of an abandoned Winterfell where he searches for Robb, Eddard, Arya, or Benjen. He notes in his dream that he isn’t a Stark, but he has to keep going into the darkness of the crypts. The abandoned Winterfell is pretty much self-explanatory at this point, but the latter part of the dream is unsettling and ambiguous regarding its meaning.
Heartsbane belonged to Tarlys for 500 years.
Jon thinking about how Catelyn made sure that Robb, Rickon, and Bran were never truly Jon’s brothers. It is really easy to stop sympathising with Catelyn when I observe her though personal wrongs she did to Jon. While I understand her reasoning, she pisses me off with lengths she went through while at the same time acting so selfish in regard to any personal sacrifice she had to make and making a big fuss over everything.

Timeline References:
Sam was 15 when he is sent to the wall.

27. EDDARD
Characters: Eddard, Janos, Varys, Renly, Pycelle, Littlefinger, Harwin, Jory, Varly, Jacks, Tobho Mott, Beric, Gendry,

Facts:
Ned sends his own men to serve Gold Cloaks. At times like this, I find him completely unsuited for this position because he tries so hard to do well by all that he forgets her is surrounded by many who plot against him.
Renly fancies himself a young Robert and he fancies Margaery as a young Lyanna. Lyanna and Margaery seem to both have the misfortune to be engaged to men utterly unsuited for them. One for a man who whores around, and one for a man who is homosexual.
Gendry’s apprenticeship was paid for by a stout man, round of shoulders with a brown beard with a bit of red in it, rich cloak that was purple with silver threads and always wore a hood. Purple strikes me as Varys’ colour.

Timeline References:
Stannis is a year younger than Robert.

28. CATELYN
Characters: Catelyn, Rodrik, Masha Heddle, Tyrion, Marillion, Yoren,

Facts:
A singer had once bedded a girl Edmure fancied. I do hope it was Tom.
When Catelyn sees Tyrion, she is immediately blinded by her revenge.
She is pleased by how she outsmarted Tyrion yet ignores the risk despite acknowledging it and admits to not thinking it though. Stupid stupid stupid. I’m done wasting my words on Catelyn’s inability to comport and think as a highborn lady.

Timeline References:
Marillion is 18.

29. SANSA
Characters: Sansa, Septa Mordane, Jayne Poole, Loras, Littlefinger, Robert, Cersei, Barristan, Renly, Jaime, Sandor,

Facts:
Septa Mordane declares Jory a “a beggar among these others” in the tournament. Hello, the source of Sansa’s shallowness.
When Ser Hugh of Vale died in the tilt against The Mountain, Sansa doesn’t find the death tragic. What she finds tragic is that he won’t be noted in songs.
Sansa doesn’t blame Joffrey for the events leading up to Lady’s death. She did at first, but she persuaded herself not to blame him. She blames Arya and Cersei. And then notes that is was really all Arya. It is really astonishing how willing she is to blind herself and how far she goes with that.
Sandor tells Sansa the truth of his scars. This is the first time where I really get some hope for Sansa when she deems Ser Gregor as no true knight. It is the only thing redeeming her so far.

Timeline References:
Loras is 16.
Sandor was 6 when Gregor burned off his face.
Gregor is 5 years Sandor’s senior.
Gregor was anointed as knight 4 years after the incident by Rhaegar.

30. EDDARD
Characters: Eddard, Barristan, Lancel, Robert, Sansa, Sandor, Jaime, Renly, Littlefinger, Gregor, Anguy, Jory, Arya, Harwin, Varys,

Facts:
Robert accepts Ned’s statement of him being too fat for his armour. I think this is my first positive impression of Robert. At least his self-delusions and cowardice did not go THAT far.
Ned once again tells how Robert never knew Lyanna.
Robert speaks about how kingship had runied him. Well, I agree with him. He was not suited for it and had no patience for it. I do like that he has the wits to understand it and guts to admit it.
Renly notes that it is a pity Tyrion isn’t there when he wins a bet against Littlefinger by betting on Sandor against Jaime. In retrospective, the fact that Renly was so sure of Tyrion’s choice should have alerted Ned that Littlefinger lied.
Syrio had come to Ned with excellent reputation. How? Ned doesn’t seem to reference his post as First Sword of Braavos much.
Varys’ disguise is as a stout man, in old, dirty boots, heavy, cheap cloak, a hood hiding his face, and large sleeves to hide his hands. Ned recognized him after Varys removed the hood.
Varys is using Ned to forestall the war until his own candidates are ready.
Varys implies it was Ser Hugh who poisoned Jon Arryn.

Timeline References:
Lancel is 15.
Margaery is 14.
Gregor was 17 when KL fell to Tywin.
Edric Storm is Bran’s age.
