Discussion -- April 2015 75-word Writing Challenge

Wow, Perp, great review. Thank you.

Thank you, also, Victoria. You see more in my story than I do. All I can see is that I could have changed one word to tie it all together.

Darn it.

Thanks for great reviews guys. I would have said thanks sooner but I've been on holiday in the Big Apple (any stories about the Empire State, large Monkeys and RAY GUNS have nothing to do with me, I swear) pounding the streets and testing the limits of the plastic in my wallet. Glad to be back all the same.

Starbeast -- The author provides an introspective meditation on the nature of creativity..

Thank you Victoria Silverwolf, for a wonderful review. I enjoy how straight to the point you are. You made may day.

Hi, It's been a long time between posts. So many entertaining entries... The bar has been set too high for me, but it's a fun challenge.

It's great to be back! Ti

Nice to see you again TitaniumTi. The bar for this challange was high for me, I had to get a running start before I vaulted over it.

Starbeast - The Quiet Side Of My Real Life - now this is an unexpected turn from the Beast. this is quietly introspective and rather more charming for all that. here the cute denouement is the humble self-satisfaction of the writer. And that's a place a lot of us should strive to reach.

Thank you DG Jones, for an indepth review. I felt like I was watching an episode of Biography, about myself You made my day.

I think too much. Such is the case with us creative types and SB – agrees with me. Gone are the frantic scribblings of an alien lifeform, replaced with a refracted version of self, a slow realistic mundanity, a honesty that is saved only by the end, where we see a twinkling in the eyes of the benevolent one.

Thank you Perpetual Man, for the outstanding review. You made my day.

I was overwhelmed by a triple review. Once again I'd like thank our three amazing reviewers, elegant Lady Victoria, the mighty (and colorful) PM and DG Jones, the great.

I'd also like to say to all of the authors who've posted, that everyone has done another incredible job. I can't give your stories justice without a proper review, because I haven't read quite enough books to be familiar with your excellent writing. So I can only admire the wordage and true meanings of your sculpted stories. Marvelous as they are.

Oooh, [singsong]had-an-idea-had-an-idea[/singsong] :)

And it's only the 11th of the month! First draft came in at 76 words, too; either it's a squalid mess or I got lucky. Will stick it in the pH-maturation chamber and see if it develops into something better by the end of the month.

Huge thank you to Victoria, Perp and DG Jones for your awesome reviews! They gave me a great variety of emotions - all of them good! :D

I'm wondering if your [singsong] melody sounds the same as it does in my head.
I don't really have a maturation chamber, more a shark-like 'right you're born now off you go' technique.

I'm sure it does sound the same; it also works as na-na-na-na-naaaa. <cough> but anyway...

I like to write mine; get it to 75 words, then tuck it away for a few days before looking at it again. I very rarely post early but equally, I don't like to leave it up to the 11th hour.

I'm a bit worried that there hasn't been a new story in five days...and my main worry is that my choices for genre/theme may have broken the Challenge. :(

Maybe it's just that it's spring? (Not springs, spring:))

That's the sign of a good challenge, CC! :D

The diversity between the stories seems to be greater this month than in others. And the pace of new stories always seems to slump a bit mid-month.

More will arrive :)

Well this nice weather is actually kinda preventing me from working on my 300-word entry, I'm trying to spend as much time as possible outdoors :D

well.. i am in.. not even sure its on topic but any glimmerings of ideas i had were firmly doused by that thundering avalanche of superiority of the efforts of others speeding past.... thuswise finding my idea cookie jar comparitively emptied, i had to scrape up and paste together any crumbs i found left stuck in the bottom.. so my sticky jammy pasted together crumb creature is posted.. :)

so take courage and be brave all of you yet to post.. you can't do worse then a crushed jammy cookie :D
