In the books it said someting along the lines that people have forgotten how to make valyrian steel. And as such valyrian steel can no longer be made. However a skilled swordsmith is capable of re-shaping an existing valyrian sword. Ice was huge, so the swordsmith was capable of making two smaller swords out of the valyrian steel. Or something along those lines. I'm sure other people can explain it better. I'm not sure if this is a good analogy, it's way oversimplified given the actual process of it i have no doubt (not i know the process of how a sword is made) but basically think of Ice as a huge cardboard box, they remade that huge cardboard box into 2 smaller cardboard boxes. 1 = 0.5 + 0.5 or something.

I think they don't know how to make Valyrian Steel anymore but melting down and using the Valyrian steel they have for other weapons is still possible.

Tyrion seems to have successfully talked his way into becoming Dany’s advisor, as one wise in the ways of the rich.

The Imp may have been instrumental in saving Jorah’s life, which Dany had promised to take if he ever darkened her doorstep again, but she does relent and boot Jorah from Meereen. His decision to return to the fighting pits was no doubt influenced by his belief that his days are numbered by greyscale.

Man, that ailment takes a lot longer to turn a guy to stone than those crystals the Inhumans like to use on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

my guess, jorah makes it all the way back to westeros bringing the deadly version of it with him...

Isn't he hoping for another chance to see Daenerys at the major fighting pit event?

In the books GRRM does at one stage make a point of saying that the Smith in question has mastered the Qohorian art of reforging existing Valyrian Steel blades. Just saying, not meaning to pass water on anyone's bonfire...
