Discussion- August 100 Word Anonymous Challenge

Congratulations to Ashleyne for winning the Challenge, and to ratsy for winning the privilege (?) of hosting the next one, and to everyone who managed to enter and vote, two things I managed to miss entirely this month. Well, not entirely -- I did vote the first time, but not in the tiebreaker. For what it's worth, I *think* I would have chosen Ashleyne's story anyway. :D

I have the wonderfully talented @Ashleyne. B. Watts request for September's challenge so I will be posting the thread on it later today. If it is up there before September is officially here, it's because I will be too busy to do it later!

*finally gets back after being away* Congratulations Ashleyne! And thanks to Cascade for running this challenge, and to ratsy for stepping up for the next one.

Um. I don't usually like to comment much on my stories - it should be all in the text ya-da-ya-da-whatever - but given I so spectacularly missed this month, I will say that (a) despite having read a lot of pre-teen fantasy, I found it remarkably hard to get a handle on how to write and (b) The Price Of Peace is about a girl running away from home to get away from her parent's divorce.

@Ensign Shah Really glad she liked it, that's my little triumph right there :)

It was real fun taking part in the challenge, looking forward to the next one. And holy mackerel, just found my lost post in ''Series discussion- The Last Rune'' ! Now how did that happen, don't quite remember even clicking on that topic?
Never mind, here it is:

Ole Skeeter's vote went to... (modest drumroll) Horns Can Be Fun (also in the tie-braker)

Monster Girls, Inanimate Objects, Fake Sounds got shortlisted. And Fudge? could have made it to the short list, had it been beef jerky instead :)

And of course, congrats Ashleyne :)
