Since we're sharing good news I can say that mine has also sold to a small publisher. I'm just waiting for contract to arrive in the post, and it will have a 2017 release date. I could have went for 2016 but Abendau 2 and 3 are coming out next year and I didn't want to take attention from them or overstretch myself. The publisher I'm with has a literary as well as fantasy section, which supports Waters and the Wild as it crosses over both.

Another couple of updates on Hodderscape comments. When asked if they'll have made it through all the submissions by Christmas, Anne Perry replied that they are making every effort to do so.

Further down, she said there will be a new update posted this week.

I don't think we'll hear anything. It's like with other updates. Unless you're a published writer, you are nothing but scrub on bottom of their shoes. Don't expect to hear anything. Nothing other than getting a form rejection 13 months later, saying: "...because of the high number of submissions, we cannot provide individual feedback."

We know how long it takes to make an opinion because we have seen it happening in the critiques all the time. So why is it taking them so long?
