Tor opening for short fiction 1st October

Yeah they say up to 17.5 but prefer under 12... I would prefer to be in their preference ;) But cutting more would be detrimental.

As for the novella, I think it's pretty much the same process for submissions, right? But then this piece was too short for that mode.
 
I wonder if they will still get back about the ones sent before that date. I did send them one about 100 days ago now.

Sorry to hear that. Not had a reply yet, but it's better to get an actual rejection than be left hanging.

Given the money on offer, they must be festooned with submissions, so I'd guess (even more so than usual) this'll be a difficult one to get accepted.
 
Forgot to update; I got my rejection two days ago. Wasn't surprised at all; with the closing down for open subs business I'm guessing they must have had even more submissions than usual (and possibly not hugely keen to find new things, since they've given up on open subs). And I don't mean that in a bitter they-didn't-choose-me way, but being realistic. If you've already decided not to do things a certain way anymore, it would have to be a really spectacular submission to catch the eye! :) (does that even make sense? It did in my head, honest!)

I agree. it will take something special to get an acceptance here.

Never mind. Join the club. We could call it the Tor Rejected Authors Self-Help group or TRASH for short:)
 
Waiting on my rejection still. Commiserations to the fallen. I fully expect to be passed by on this but had to send something in. I think it's been four months now.
 
My standard rejection came today. That's three short stories and one novel rejected over the past year. My next round of submissions starts soon. If anyone still has't heard – good luck!
