Sekrit Seven...

Stories can be any length, but tend to be in the short story range (i.e. 2000 - 6000 words), as befits the time allotted.

I've not written anything that long for years but it sounds like a good way to force myself to write something more fully-formed than the challenges and the odd scenes I'm knocking out at the minute. Count me in.

OK, I'll fall on my sword. If nobody objects, I'll run it, but I'll also write a story (I promise not to cherry-pick a prompt or anything stupid like that),

Victoria didn't, last time, but I couldn't come up with a reason I couldn't do it, other than the cherry-picking thing.

It goes without saying, Robert, that we totally trust you!

And I'm not actually angling for an easy prompt either -- I love the thrill of something way outside my comfort zone, like last time.

Normally the custodian doesn't get a story simply because he or she would know who the author is. But I would totally cherry pick if I was in charge. :D

Robert, I was only mithering - I really don't mind running it. So please don't feel pressured.

I'm happy to run it - and the only thing knowing who the author is stops is guessing, which the custodian can't do anyway. It's also difficult to anonymise word documents reliably (not impossible, mind).

So, people sign up from now until the end of the month, and then stories are due ... say the 1st of June? How does that sound?

I was merely mithering (good word) too. I am happy to host, but I'd want to write a story (though I'd never be so corrupt as to cherry pick the best theme - you shock me, @Phyrebrat !!)

As for dates, shall we say send out requests beginning of March, get them back by mid-March, send them out anonymously by the week after and give three months for the stories to be written? That would mean end of Kine for submission, and publish them and guessing game in July.

Sound right?

Does the writing have to be of a certain standard? Or can anyone have a crack? It sounds fun and I'd like to get a little more involved here, if possible.

I will find time to write one. Probably be short so advanced apologies to my recipient.

I'd like one where the MC learns to be more inclusive of people around her/him/it.

@Jaxx anyone can have a bash, just give it your best shot, it's good practise - I got a full novella out of my last one and would never have written about the subject matter if not prompted by the brief.

Thank you very much DG and well done with that result on the last one! I can imagine it adds another dimension, peer involvement and subject matter creating a new dynamic.

This sounds intresting. I'll try. just let me know what the story is, I'm better at fantasy than scifi or something else but will try. used to do a bunch of Flash prompts at one time but the group died down. don't have much else to do and it will be something to make me do some writing.

Can I be an extra? Don't need a story back.
