Yeah in dialogue

What about okay or OK, would OK ever be okay to use.
Please someone say, 'Yeah'.

And 'Yeah' I'm resurrecting this thread, is that okay?

If you're writing SF or contemporary fantasy, then OK is fine in dialogue (or in narrative that's very close and in the character's voice). I'd be less happy to see it in a pseudo-medieval fantasy, though, since it is such a modern expression.

I'm pretty sure 'yeah' is safe. I wouldn't go as far as using my preteen's favorite texting response, 'YAAAASSSSSS', though.

I've used "yeah", "yup", "yah", "yuppers", and "yes".

And I'm sure somewhere along the way one of my teen characters would break out the "YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS!!!!"
