Space 1999

I enjoyed Space 1999 back in the day, but for me it's aged quite badly compared to some other scifi shows of the era. Obviously by far the coolest aspect of the series were the Eagles. Thinking about it, most of (if not all) of the vehicles that Gerry Anderson created were super cool, and (from memory) many have them had no weapons capability.
 
I think it goes in different directions by the second series, and the tone changes by then. I prefer the early episodes.
