Tyrion seeks a strange ally; Bran learns a great deal; Brienne goes on a mission; Arya gets a chance to prove herself.

wow, what an episode. Arya gets an assignment that shows the faceless men aren't very particular whom they kill, as long as the price is paid. Yara and Theon will probably join Dany instead of Victarion. Yara becoming the Iron captain. The fight between the Starks and the Boltons won't be easy. Wasn't expecting the blackfish to retake riverrun, i have a feeling things wont go like that in the books. Also it implies that the blackfish and it's army can just bypass the Freys. Seems odd but okay. We're probably just supposed to forget about the freys for the moment. After all the Vale army seems close at hand as well at moat caitlin. So did they take it from the northmen, made alliance with them (again after bypassing the freys and their castle just like that).

Summer is dead... that leaves only Nymeria and Ghost in case shaggydog is truly dead. I don't like all this direwolf dieing at all. The red priestess was just a red priestess, not the woman from asshai.

I liked the priestess wording about dany, stating her to be the hero. I don't want her(dany) to be the hero and so having the priestess claim it in such a fashion makes me think dany might not be it after all. Red priestess seem to be wrong about prophecies all the time. Like there's always a twist. My new crackpot theory is that Bran is the hero. Didn't he return back to life during the burning of a tower in winterfell. Whilst Catelyn was crying tears. Slim hopes of it being true but I need to grasp at this straw whilst insisting dany isn't it. I'll admit dany is growing on me, but she still seems to convenient a powerhouse (if that makes sense).

The biggest revelation in truth is that the children are responsible for the white walkers, creating evil in the hopes of stopping the first men. I guess it worked to an extent since peace was made presumably in the long night to stop them. With the wall being built and all. It's now come to bite us all in the behind though. Interestingly enough, the lands of long winter, were lush with green. And probably the initial homeland of the children of the forest before they created the white walkers. Good times... . I do wonder why exactly the white walkers are stirring now. I mean they been around for thousands of years. What made them decide to let loose? I'm guessing we will never truly know. It's not the dragons, cause they been around before, and returned after the white walkers appeared so... . I've got no idea.

However all that pales qua feeling in comparison to the revelation of Hodor's 'name'. It's a minor thing compared to the creation of the white walkers but the feelings behind it go way deeper. Hold the door... Hodor... wow just wow speechless for a minute after that. Poor Wylis.

Poor Summer. We hardly knew you. In the show, anyway. The treatment (and importance) of the wolves is one of the big things from the books I feel is missing in the show, but still - the feels.

And Hodor, too. Poor Hodor.

This season has been so much better than last season, it's like a different show. And part of that, I think, is that it's now forging new territory - whether working from GRRM's plan or otherwise. It also seems to know which parts to push to the back (Dorne, ugh) and which parts to bring to the front (Snow and Stark coming to mess you up, Ramsey), which is something it didn't do well last year.

And a fleeting Richard E. Grant cameo! Thought it was him but had to double-check...

Hodor. Man, what a sad ending to a small man that ended up being a giant, while his master ran away. North not only remembers, but it's a sad, dark place. One place, where unforgiving things happens, like the never-ending winter.

More I look at Night-King more I feel like that part of the history has forgotten. He has been true ruler. Maybe even a god as he was born out from blood magic. Just like those children of forest. I'd still call them dryads, with the leafy like skin, and an ability to wield power of magic. But just like mortals, they made mistakes, stuff that the old gods let happen.

They didn't mind the siring of Night's King. In fact, we don't know exactly - at least in the tv series - what is their will, only that sometimes their will isn't in line of the preachers. Hence Melisandra cocked up with the vision she received in the regards of Bolton's. Yet, same kind of power play is happening at the other side of the world, where name of Dragon Queen is spoken with a lot of praise.

It was almost as if this new red woman had chosen to become an advisor to Daenery. Not just talking head to propaganda Tyrion is asking her to spread to the people. But I was so surprised when she chose to ignore the small big man, and speak to Varys about his past. Something happened there that at we TV viewers don't know.

What is it? I don't know, but I can only guess it's a pretty big thing, since it's got so much of foreshadowing. I still believe Dragon Queen and Night's King are going to clash at the Red Keep. And I hope it's Tyrion, who takes the Iron Throne.

It would have been quite powerful if Hodor's last words were "Hodor, Hodor, Hodor, Hold the Door..."

Now will Bran become Valen the builder Stark who travels back in time, and builds the ice wall so the Minbari can defeat the Shadows?

I think it's the birth of Bran. We don't know exactly when he was "marked." But they were obviously waiting for him, maybe for millenia. If they can follow him into the tree, they can follow him beyond the wall.

I still don't quite believe in the existance of gods in grrm's world, haven't seen prove of their existance yet. Only seen magic at work.

@Xavier, why would they need Bran, bloodraven been around for years. They didn't seem to have any use of him.

And...I wonder if that dude the Children turned into a Walker was a Stark forebear. And/or the Blood Raven, who miraculously turned back into a man/tree, thereby betraying his own kind. Maybe that's why the Walkers were so pissed at him.

The first walker may have been a stark. who knows really besides grrm. as for bloodraven, he's a half targaryen, half blackwood. And the blackwoos ar first me, so there might be some kind of connection to house Stark. They were driven from the wolfswood (which is close to winterfell)

Blood raven was formerly Branden Rivers, former Hand to the King and then Lori Commander of the Night's Watch.

I'm not sure the show cares too much who the three eyed raven actually is in the books. I'm not even sure that they are the same character, given in the books Bloodraven had only been under the wierwood for around a century, but in the show he says he's been there die thousands of years.

Loved Grant's line. "No part is too small."

Anyone wondering how Littlefinger is getting about Westeros. Does the man have a secret teleporter? And are we to believe his story about The Blackfish retaking Riverrun?

The Hodor storyline was particularly moving. GOT back to its best.

Great episode, love how Sansa can be so dominant and powerful with little finger and then a cheery little sister making clothes for Jon - she really knows how to play the game

All the emotions over hodor - brilliantly done, fantastic ending. Just know that zombie hodor will be popping up when we least expect it too

I wonder if the red priestess was the one responsible for turning Varys into a eunuch? She had a red amulet -could be very very old too

Also loved how euron greyjoy just came back to life after being drowned. None of the CPR business in the books, he just came back to life; so the drowned God is as powerful as the Lord of light. A nice little touch, never thought too much of the iron born in the books, but I'm really getting excited about them in the show

I wonder will we get 'Coldhands' in this season? Could he be brought in to save Bran and Meera?
